We seem to have a few Potterheads here so... let's talk about it: Your favourite book, movie, ship... AND WHICH HOUSE ARE YOU IN

Hewwo people :3 I’m new to this site and I’m a bit curious as to how the rankings work. I can’t find any topics about them, but if there already are topics about the rankings, pwease lemme know 🥺 I know that all new members start off as mushrooms, but what does it take to move up the rankings? How many ranks are there? All the names sound cute and I’m just genuinely curious to know. Thanks in advance 😉

Need to talk about this haha, I've been waiting for 5 years and finally they have an anime! I know people who have waited for 10 years Basically Tower of God is a Korean webcomic that recently got an adaptation, it has over 4.5 billion views so far. It's still ongoing and you can read it here. For 7 other languages including Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese, you can find them here. The reason this is huge, because this is basically the first EVER Korean webcomic to receive a full anime adaptation. It was published in 2010, but despite its popularity, no one knew if it'll ever be adapted. We're so happy it happened this year. Naver is rich and they eve…

A new film of skating in Netflix "Spinning Out" coming in january 1.

Hey satellites, 2019 is coming to an end really soon. I thought this could be a place for everyone to share about our year, what we did or did not like. It could be yuzu and/or non yuzu related things. Also, what are some of the resolutions you would like to set for yourself in the coming year? What are you hoping for? --- I feel like 2019 was a very bad year in my real life and for my experience as a figure skating fan. However, it was also very memorable compared to 2018. I experienced many firsts. Even as a fanyu, I feel like I learned to let go of the fear of him losing. I made a lot of stupid decisions but got to learn more about myself. In 2020, I w…

Sorry, it's sort of off topic (and its a very interesting topic that's being discussed!) Firstly, this is not at all directed at the poster that I have quoted as I notice many satellites do the same on this forum, and have done for a long long time - it's hard to challenge something that has been accepted practice for a long time, but many people in history have done just this to bring about much needed change, so......I'm going to be brave!! Could I please ask satellites to think about the words used to describe middle aged or older women - often on here I see women being called "aunties" or even "grandmas" as if we are defined only by our age (and by our relations…

Hey guys! I just wanna share this video that I watched on YouTube made by this company called Big Ear. It's about starting hearing conservation for your kids. I was diagnosed with hyperacusis in my teens and just wanna help out others.

Found this quiz - would you care to play? I am Swan Lake - and not that I mind, love the ballet and love Tchaikovsky’s music. https://www.buzzfeed.com/wanderlust188/which-figure-skating-warhorse-are-you-2ksgxhx2bf

I dont know if this thread has been open or if this is a good place to open, so admins and mods please feel free to take it down if it isnt. --- I have a lot of favorite actors and actresses (mostly east asians) since I grew up watching asian dramas. Some of them purely based on looks, some on acting, and some on both. In no particular order - Leslie Cheung (Hong Kong) both - Zhu Yi Long (China) both - Sun Li (China) Acting - Zhao LiYing (China) Both - Xiao Zhan (China) Looks but will watch his drama to judge..heard he is good - Maggie Cheung Ho Yee (Hong Kong) acting - Julian Cheung (Hong Kong) Both …

I only just started getting interested in the sport and know little about it. The ribbon is my favourite so far. From what I gather, the reigning queens are Russian twins Dina Averina and Arina Averina. This is Dina with the ribbon: Is there anyone else who watches this?

Since I inadvertantly derailed the General Yuzuru thread with baking, we could have a general stressbuster thread here, instead! Whatever we do to get us through the season. And in the not-so-distant future, the Olympics. Strawberry shortcakes are encouraged!

Okay, since these figure skating/Harry Potter-comparisons in the general chat escalated very quickly, I decided to save all these amazing and creative ideas in a seperate post! Can't believe what I've summoned myself there

I've never thought I would make a thread here, I am a little bit nervous but Hi! Have you ever heard of Japanese manga called "BANANA FISH"? It became anime recently and episode 2 was already aired. I don't usually watch anime (the last anime I watched was YOI, I watched it because it was about figure skating), but BANANA FISH is exceptional for me because I read comic books when I was young and I can not still throw them away. This manga was written in mid 80's to 90' and serialized on "Bessatu Shojo Comic", but apparently it was rare to see "hard action shonen manga" kind in there while others were mostly love romance of pretty girls and boys. So far, I like…

Hi! I had just an idea of creating this thread for satellites who have travel/tourist questions since we all come from different parts of the world.

This thread is dedicated to better figure skating photography and videography. There are threads for sharing photos or videos. This one, instead, focuses on sharing experiences and questions about creating figure skating images and videos, such as how to take good photos and videos during figure skating competitions and ice shows; recommended cameras, camera settings, and other equipments; workflows on transferring, organizing, or editing files; recommended software; etc. Edit: Please post photos and videos only when they are related to the experiences that are being discussed or questions you'd like to ask so that this space doesn't become a photo/video shari…

I think it would be interesting to see some of the demographics of Planet Hanyu members. All answers are anonymous. :-)

A comment in the main Yuzuru thread reminded me about an old poll I had made on GS but I don't have a link either so I just made a new poll. I put it in terms of time zones again (the old poll was made to figure out why the thread had been more active in certain hours) but the poll actually has a geographical breakdown if you click "next" part 5 of the results so it'll show where the answers come from anyway. Well, in my case it shows the country correctly, if not the city. :s_yes Edit: Bumped so that the crowd who joined post Olympics could cast their vote. If you have already voted, don't do it again, your vote is still there! So, tell us where y…

Is anyone interested in having Planet Hanyu meetups? Maybe we can use this thread to plan meetups around the world We can ...or ...or ...or I live in SF Bay Area, so if anyone is around, let me know
