Good morning from Japan! ^_^ In addition to being a huge fan of Hanyu-senshu, I'm also very active in men's rhythmic gymnastics (男子新体操) fan community here. MRG started in Japan 70 years ago and fans of figure skating may also enjoy this beautiful sport! It is graceful, emotional and athletic, and the competition outfits gymnasts wear are very similar to men's figure skating (some are even custom made by Chacott). I'm trying to introduce more fans to the sport by writing several English-language newspaper articles about some of Japan's top gymnasts and teams. I'm mostly a RPG kind of girl, both of the solo and MMO varieties. The XXXII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo is coming up this year, in a bit more than six months (204 days to be more precise), and I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can discuss anything related to pre-Olympics, whether it's news, the torch relay, or just discuss the Olympic sports you like. Yesterday Thomas Bach said that so far preparations have never been in a better state before at any Olympics. How did you get your username? Is there a story behind it? Did you make it up or is it based on a real name, maybe your own name? Or did you just pick something from the random word generator and stuck with it? As for mine: As a kid I was obsessed with The Magic Flute (my parents raised a very weird child and exposed me to these things at a young age), and I always loved the names of two of the characters, Pamina and Papagena. Unfortunately both were often already taken when I tried to use them as nicknames on the internet, and then I ended up adding things like * or ~ to the names. At some point I decided to just combine the two and tada, new nickname :grin:

Have any of you guys seen Nirvana in Fire? It's a few years old (2015), so I'm discovering it late, but OMG, I think it just crushed my soul. Which is extremely weird, because I'm not a huge fan of slow-paced complicated power struggle/political dramas, especially ones that are 50+ episodes, and I've also never seen a Chinese period drama before. But it is now one of my favorite TV shows ever, in any language. I was out sick for much of this week, and I spent it curled on the couch marathoning this show. Hey! I'm wanting to buy my first teapot/kettle for my birthday but after looking up the different kinds I'm kinda lost. I want one that I can use on the stovetop and I was hoping to have one that didn't whistle I get headaches so that would not be a welcomed noise. At first I saw some Japanese ones that looked pretty cool but they are cast iron so it worried me that it might rust?? But all the others seem to whistle. Is there anything that would be good to look for in a teapot that I'm unaware of? I might be overthinking things 😁 Thank you in advance for your help!
