[2022] Winter Olympic Games (04.02-20.02) - Team Event Men's SP + FS

Well for this SP team event, I am pleasantly surprise to see Shoma's and Mark's skates.

Hopefully can sneak in some time for pairs later.

I think once Yuzu is there, they will give NC higher marks. Its always like that..his score somehow will become monstrous when he is head to head with Yuzu in the same competition

His score was already monstrous, that sp did not deserve 111

I literally wondered out loud to my cat if Nathan forgot his choreo in the first 2/3 because it was so empty

yuzu always had some issues in the recent head to head and was never clean. That’s why the scores look so uneven. But a clean Yuzu with 4A will give him a fighting chance. Should not be so close but at least they will be more closely matched (ridiculous as it may be).

The state of this sport is so sad, how is it normal that we are celebrating someone like Nate getting ONLY 48?:13877886:

Well I hope he does devolve over the course of the competition.

I can't handle flat edges, wonky jumps and empty programs getting anywhere near Yuzu's Roncapu.

There has got to be justice in the world.

To be fair, I like the way he uses his arms/hands in the SP, but his skating was surprisingly wobbly, especially at the beginning, he must have been super nervous

This is the first time I see Nathan's SP, and I don't think the program itself is boring. It just doesn't suit him at all. The first half looked so... tentative. Like, you could tell he was doing what he was supposed to, but not with the confidence with which he skates that dance... thing... in Rocketman, and his movements just looked kind of awkward. If Roman skated that program I think it'd be quite beautiful, for example, with his wonderful skating skills and beautiful lines.

Nathan recognising he didnt beat the WR saying it'll have to be something great to break that

i dont think anyone is saying he did...just comparing how he has been scored over the last quad a wr was expected so this was a pleasant surprise really

Right, I want to watch the other team events but I’m going back to sleep now. Gotta wake up in 3 hours for work.

I hope to rise and shine to news about Yuzu arriving in that mysterious Olympic flight from Japan.

The commentary was painful on Eurosport...very disappointing, but not surprising

Shoma did a really great job tonight. For me, his performance was the most enjoyable. Nathan was clean, but way overscored again. He shouldn't be 6 points above Shoma.

Too bad about Roman and Boyang. I hope it goes better for them in the FS. I think they'll both to the team FS, too, right?

I'm actually glad Yuzu isn't participating in the team event, looking at how close all the skaters are sitting squeezed together.

So, how many teams advance to the FS portion?

That's the thing. Arm movements-wise, it is not a bad program, but this is FS, he gotta show he knows how to move his feet, which he doesn't.

That emptiness of a program gets the highest PCS, especially TR, of the night.

Couldn't get my VPN to connect, so missed practically all of the Team Men SP. Finally was able to connect to Germany just in time to see Nathan. Then my mom calls me in the middle of Grassl's skate. :13877886:

Thank goodness Yuzu wasn't doing Team. I'd better sort this out before he skates. I might have to subscribe to Peacock. Ugh!
