Chris was planning to move back to Japan and start coaching with his sister Cathy, he wrote about it in his last blog entry :sad4: https://ameblo.jp/reed-icedance-blog/

His life was just ahead of him...it is always shocking when someone dies at such a young age.

It’s desperately sad - I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. I feel so sorry for his family, especially Cathy who has lost a work partner as well as a brother. I hope she can find the strength to pursue their joint vision.

It was like a lightning bolt on a clear sky — so unexpected and shocking, I only found out about it on Tuesday as well (... through an Austrian newspaper site, since Chris' longtime GF is Austrian). My heart aches for his family and loved ones 😭.
