Yeah, that worked, thank you!

Lol, those answers.

My take on Bradie: "Hmmm, I'll have to sacrifice a skater or two for a bathroom break because the lines during the actual breaks are just too short for that number of people, hmmm, after Elizbet there's Nicole Schott whose program bores the heck out of me, but who's after her? Bradie? Ok then, decision made."

And through this I just realized Duhammel has blocked me .  Looks like she wasn't a fan that I wasn't a fan of her opinion to ban all of Russia from competing at the Olys.

 Negl, take that as a badge of honor. Oi vey. So not surprised she'd agree of all people.

So... I was having dinner without a care in the world when it hit me ladies fs was still happening and I popped in the thread to see the planet overjoyed with Waka's redemption ...then s**t started to happen and I kept refreshing as things got weirder and weirder and I forgot my pizza altogether because  :jaw::smiley_hairpull::slinkaway::smiley-scared003::runaway::13877886:

OGM pressure is a real thing...poor Alina  (also 3 cm in a month?! Usually boys are the ones who grow fast

After sp I said Caro alwatys had issues with her free and that Alina would need to bomb to lose the gold but I've never meant for all of that to happen :sadPooh: poor girl...but she got the OGM...I hope she'll come back stronger and better after this...

But I'm SO FREAKING HAPPY FOR WAKABABY! Girl did It! When people thought she had no chances! Finally, she got what she deserve, despite the ridiculos underscoring she had the whole season!

Satton! Glad she made to the podium despite her uncharacteristic mistake. She must be exhausted after this hell of a (season) ride! Now rest and have fun! Jpn ladies deserved those 3 spots so much!

Whoa Kaetlyn, what a brilliant season for her:bow:

Poor Gabby  and Caro:sad4:

I'll have many skates to catch up....

also, who would have thought that Russia would BARELY  get 3 spot?

and whoa, only 5years of consecutive podiums...They feel much more.id you think about that, Jpn dominance of man skating is stronger, since 2010 missed podium only once...:peekapooh:

My prediction are moot but who cares!!!!! (Also after getting the whole pairs podium right...universe obviously needed tk rebalance):headdesk2:

This event was so WILD, in so many ways... and as it's been a bit of a mess, men event is going to be wonderful, right? Skating-wise, scoring-wise...:snonegai:

If you guys want some comedy to go with your evening.  The responses are

lol, yeah "hot take" as in "if you take a really really hot bath, it can affect brain function"

Jackie needs to stop hyping Bradie. He's been doing it since US Nats - calling her Cinderella (Sorry, but that Mai's title and I don't make the rules) like that program is the most inspiring program ever... Can he just let her be? She did well and she's the highest ranked American lady in this championship as well as 4th in the free. Give her time to improve. Also, Satton's flawed Madama Butterfly >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bradie's Cinderella (I cannot recall any single 'moment' in this program).

I was JUST thinking about her schedule and when you think about it she had both GPs, GPF, Nats, 4CC, Olympics, AND Worlds all the while managing injuries.  Mind. Boggling. And from the sounds of it she and the other ladies are pleased, which I was hoping they would be. Sometimes they are so hard on themselves.

I overslept!

On the other hand, lovely news to wake up to-Wakababy finally on the podium !

I do not think it is entirely crazy for him to think Bradie could have deserved the bronze here. She skated well. Yes, it is a totally unsophisticated program, but sometimes those kinds of programs win titles anyway when they do all the jumps (looking down over decades of figure skating programs and championships).

I can't believe I was there to see this! Wakaba was incredible! The only full standing ovation of the evening--everyone felt it, everyone knew. I never thought a Bond program could make me cry... I love this kid so, so, so, so much!!! Thank you, Wakababy!

(I should totally be sleeping at the moment, but too much adrenaline or something... I'm getting up for the men's practice in 5 hours. Smh at myself.)

Question, does anyone have the protocols? I know in the SP thread I was joking that they were planning to unleash The Shin Amano TM in the long, but I want to see if he really got unleashed (finally) and mister !man was just a preview.

I'm happy for Wakaba, Satton and JPN ladies. Finally 3 spots, so maaaybe less heartbreak next season (haha, who am I kidding)? But at the same time, I'm so worried for Alina, she might get butchered in her home country media, even though it is super brave of her to face the pressure and go for worlds after winning OGM-the public thinks it's not surprising if you win, and think it's super bad and disappointing if you lose. I don't even want to know what headlines are floating around. By now, I hope those who ever commented that fully back-loaded programs are  "less difficult" or "not impressive" have opened their eyes (well some may never)- it's hard to do, and it's sad that someone has to fall 3 times to illustrate that. It's a relentless pacing and assault on stamina, and it's impressive that only, only at the end of the season has she not kept up.

As for J*ckie, um, I'm sorry, but Bradie's presence is just...not there. I honestly would rather watch the LP of Alina, falls and all, 100 times over than Cinderella (Citri has a bit more spunk and sass to it). Never mind the fact Bradie got grouped with Wakaba and Daleman, talk about buried.

Omg. What happened? I regret choosing sleep. I cannot believe my eyes. Wakaba!!! <3 And Satoko on the podium too, congrats to both JPN ladies!!! They got the 3rd spot back :smiley-love017: Now time to catch up on the performances.

As other people of the Planet I was there too: few of my thoughts before sleeping (and before the mens's comp of tomorrow...).

The skate of the night was Wakaba's :7938863: :tumblr_inline_mueoe3Yabh1qdlkyg:. She was so fast and dynamic, with flow on elements, accurate in spins and in most part of the choreography. The 'thing' she had more in comparison of any other athlete was the force and the passion, more clearly in the second part of the program and in the final sequence. With the help of the music she built a beautiful moment. At the end of her performance when all the people in the arena was standing and clapping so loud was something of epic, almost on Yuzu scale (but not quite there ;)). I was so so happy for her!.

Kaetlyn had a very good performance too: better spins than before, some movements were more polished and good jumps. Just I don't like so much her program and I can't feel it/her: my bad. Deserved win anyway.

Satoko was faster than I expected but we know the problems with her jumps: I am happy for her because she worked very hard this year coming back from injury, but It's a pity she can't really fix this issue.

Other good performances for me were those of Laurine (her FS is a crowd pleaser, or at least for the italian audience), of Loena and also of Bradie (also if not at the level JW would pretend).

I think nobody expected Carolina would win here: personally I had just hoped she could give a nice and more clean possible performance to medal (bronze) or just to finish fourth, but on an higher note.

Last: I felt so so so sorry for Alina. When she fell the first time a gigantic "gasp" rose from all the arena, so loud as the big round of applause welcomed her when she was taking position at the beginning of the performance. And when she continued to fall, people was clapping and cheering to give her strenght to get up and to go on. But at the end she was in tears. Poor child: I hope she can rest a bit now and find again the serenity and the strength to go on.

My mind went also to Yuzu: to bear all the pressure like he does, is something really extraordinary ...chapeau !
