wait what is this?!

If you watch Waka's FS TES box with the real time elements+GOEs, they counted that brief spiral entrance before her final spin as ChSq1 instead of that whole choreography she did with the besti, sassy walk, and 'shooting' the judges after the CCoSp. It's even in her protocols. It's really..... stupid :59227c768286a__s:

Oh, and they thought it deserved 2.1 (factored 1.5) GOE too? Are there no rules as to how much time, how many steps etc. you need to do in a ChSq? You can literally do almost nothing?

....okay, I think I can qualify to be an ISU judge now. Holy....:headdesk2:

I don't think there are rules about ChSq, because it's a bit of a throw-away. I think for the men's, Shoma's cantilever is his ChSq, and Nathan's is just his spread eagles. After the rule changes, I bet we'll see more simple simple ChSq.

Then I don't get how GOE is awarded :13877886:

Well... Shoma's lone cantilever and Nathan's 'spreadeagles' at the end of their programmes are counted as ChSq1.. so...

Hm, I guess it can be anything, and the score is fixed. I guess. But GOEs don't make much sense then.

:offtopic: If you wanna watch the ChSq for the senior men

Spoiler

That's why it would be interesting to see what would happen to the programmes for men now that they're slashing the FS time...

Wow, very interesting. (God that Seimei ChSq is glorious.)

It's the technical panel that calls the elements though, isn't it? The judgds probably knew what they saw and when no ChSeq came up on their screens they must have been wtf? So when it finally came up, they gave it full goe. Possibly higher after the whole amazing program that what they would have given in the middle.

And they have the planned layots in advance, so I really want to think that somebody on the TP had a brain fart, or they had to sneeze, or was so entranced by Waka that they missed the right button in time,

So Yuzu basically has at least three potential choreo sequences in his senior free skates. A spread eagle here, a quick Ina Bauer there...

Guys, that is where the choreo sequence is placed in Wakaba's Planned Program Content. Granted, I have sort of always been confused by that as well, because I always assumed that portion in the first half was the choreo sequence, but the PPC says otherwise.

Then I make the case for increasing her TR score because either that spiral or that long awesome besti squat is there for fun and giggles.

More than a besti squat, she has a whole lot of choreography during that part. Which is why I always thought it was the choreo sequence but the protocols say otherwise and so does the PPC. Either way, you don't see many programs with that amount of choreography outside of the step and choreo sequences. CO should increase as well, for sure.

Lol, in this case I think the judges must have been as confused as we are and thrown that +3 goe to reward the middle portion of the choreo, thinking the planed layout must have had a mistake.
