Correction: for me it wouldn't have mattered who wins the WC2018 if the fight and the judging was fare.

Depends on Keiji and Kazuki's placement. If Shoma doesn't medal and ends up 4th/5th () then either Keiji or Kazuki have to place 9th/8th.

Hope Shoma can channel his inner warrior (and/or painkillers), and deliver a program he can be happy with considering everything that is happening right now. Don't give in!!

He was so lesz ovely. His SP is the same music as Yuzuru's first senior fs, Zigeunerweisen by Sarasate which is a csardas dance (it is originally a Hungarian dance). Lots of parts were similar to Yuzu's because they are typical csardas movements. Kazuki really got into the character of the program and performed it well, I enjoyed his skate so much that at the end of it I threw in my babyPooh to him

2A -> 3.3 -> 3.63 (what he did)

3A -> 8.5 -> 9.35

 

So that, two lost levels, plus the GOE factor of the Axels (+1.5 vs +3) and none of his GOEs in general went over +1 made his TES rather low.He only got above 40 while Kazuki for example got 46. His PCS was 40 which is quite nice. If he had gotten the 3A, he would have been above Misha Ge at least. He can still fight for it in the free.

Can't complain about Keiji's scores - he lost levels and he popped his usually fairly dependable 3A.  It was just hard to reconcile because he went clean finally. 

 

To be very honest, I see no real reason why Kazuki shouldn't get higher PCS than Vincent, maybe even Nathan. His skating skills are better, his knees are better, and he actually has choreography he pays real attention to. 

 

But looking at Vincent's and Nathan's GOE made me wonder for moment if USFSF are in the process of doing a slow Ashley on Nathan and turning to Vincent instead. 

 

ETA: Poor Shoma! This doesn't sound like only boot issues. It's okay, you'll get the three spots back next year when Yuzu and you are both on the podium again.
