*lowkey side-eyeing that 10 in Shoma's skating skills*

If it's any consolation, my dad agrees with you (I don't, btw, but lol). But then, he also admitted to being severely biased because he hates Vivaldi and loves Chopin, so... ;-)

That is one crazy lovely nice photo and I'll happily settle for this podium.

[Dead]

I just can't.

Finally showing it on Australian TV. Recording it for commentary. Can upload later though I think it’s the same commentary as Eurosport so I’m not sure if it’s already been uploaded.

ETA they have Patrick fluff. I wonder if Yuzu fluff.

OMG Yuzu loves his kohei!!! He would have loved any possible candidate on that spot. But Shoma is the only one he would fret on like a mother hen. <3

lolz, OK so I dug through the Eurosport Player to find the version with German commentary and... I probably shouldn't have :smiley-laughing021: I should know better by now.

They actually shut up during the skates, and afterwards the lady was like "OK so that answers the question how well he's doing after his injury!" (and she actually sounded excited) and the other guy immediately went uuhhh yeeeaaaah well hmm that's just the SP, he's definitely gonna win the SP but there's still the FS, and I don't think we can say anything until then because more jumps and stamina and yada yada yada, he gave like a 2 minute monologue about what could hypothetically in theory still happen because less difficult jumps than the others and blah blah and we don't even know if he can make it through an entire FS and blah blah blah, and I just tuned out after a while.... also when the lady went on to say how she was captivated by the performance from the beginning he agaiiiin went uh yeah he was kinda cool-ish at the beginning, he already was so focused during the presentation of the skaters, and we've seen him skate that program much more freely in the past.... so basically yay positive thinking! You do everything right and I'm gonna lament about how you could still suck tomorrow!..... saving grace was that they said that he was sorely missed in other competitions and they're happy he's back but yeah :dozey: wasn't really listening anymore at that point

they are not easily hyping someone unconditionally :smiley-laughing021: but if tomorrow in the FS Yuzuru skates well, I expect them to be amazed! Also, at they are fair and that guy knows his stuff (he was the one who was also extremely upset about Wakaba's PCS vs. Alina in CoC). I have yet to watch their commentary!

I have just wake up, i just want to say that I'm just soooo proud of him.

Our space kitty from Planet Hanyu is truly beyond reach. :tumblr_inline_n18qr5lPWB1qid2nw:

yeah I mean, I get it that they don't want to over-hype someone after the SP. We've seen how much good all that did for Nathan, poor thing. And it's not like we haven't seen people go in the lead and then bomb themselves off the podium. But it just gave me a serious eyerolling-headache that he started out with that kind of nagging because really, that was a brilliant skate, and I thought maybe we could start with some good before we go all Negative Nellie

They didn't just oopsie-upload it to the internet. I know that this is the in-the-gutter level of ethics we can expect, but in my perspective, that's no reason to accept it as how it is. That means more people to throw f*ckin coconuts at for using something like this to get website traffic and hits.

I might have misunderstood you guys. I was talking about the moment I saw on NHK coverage. (They showed a few seconds of Yuzu in the warm-up room with Kikuchi san and that's it) Have no idea about uploaded stuff. Sorry for joining conversation without knowing exactly what you were talking about.

I can't wait to watch it^^ and hear their pessimism myself... Also, I don't know if this has been posted, but Dick button gave some really nice comments:

do we already have snippets of what the other commentators said? I saw the nbc and nbc one on hanyu - what did ambrosia or b.esp say? Also how did nbc react to Nathan? and what about comments about Boyang and Shoma from B.Esp, NBC and CBC?

So, does anyone have any idea why Yuzu lost a level on the last spin?

Also, I still wonder what a skater would have to do to get even just one 10 for transitions (8.75 is ridiculous, either way, and when the same judge gives Shoma a 9, it's even more so...)...

Oh my, I'm just starting to watch and this kind of pessimistic outlook is even for them quite pronounced ....:13877886::embSwan:

for some reason I can't watch the skates ... only without commentary!

Just seeing his happy face was worth the wait. I feel like he's getting the kind of competition he wanted, i am praying to the skating gods that he gets his revenge FS. I really want to say more but what else can i say that hasn't been said a thousand times? He's amazing, made me sob like a dying whale, had my grandma, my grandpa, one of my aunts and my mom watching him, plus some friends that sent me pics of their screens with the message "i'm watching your guy." in various ways. Heck, after he skated, my grandma grabbed my freshly delivered AERA and started looking through it to see the Yuzu pics.

I couldn't be happier right now (jk, i could. I would be happier if i stopped coughing up my lungs:tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid: but Happy Zbb is reeeaaaaaally good)
