I hope Boyang skates well and gives him positive NHK2015 vibes  . Let's stay positive and not think about the things from the past. He is not in the same circumstances right now and hopefully has a different mindset. And they have Tracy to stay in KnC.

Can someone explain Nathan's score to me. Why does he get credit for a Quad Lutz combo when no second jump ever happened. I know they only gave him 4 L BV minus fall deductions. Just feel like missing a combo like that should have greater deduction. After all if you jump a double like Denis, you get no credit at all.

it's probably counted as a single jump. He first jumped the 4lutz attempt, then he jumped the 4T attempt (which was not counted as it's not allowed to jump a second quad without combination.)

In this case you have to use "Failover" link, it is in the bottom of the page. That always works for me.

I recorded ČT Sport (Czech television sport) broadcast and am currently working on converting it and some subtitles and such (which will take forever, since I suck with any kind of editing software ), if anyone's interested. It's only the final group + Březina, but there are some interesting bits there (esp. about Nathan, and Boyang's choreo, that part made me lol ). I will try to get it uploaded at some point

The rules say  that a missed combo gets BV of the jump you made (if it's a triple or a quad I guess)and a deduction  (+COMBO) because of no combo. Iirc it's -3 goe ("in SP element not according the requirement must have final goe -3"). So Nathan couldn't lose any more points than that under the current rules, even with a fall, just like, if you do a solo quad without preceding steps and you UR and fall on it, still your goe is going to be -3, even if each one of your mistakes would deserve a -3 or -2  

(till 2015-16 season the whole jumping pass would have been called invalid and got a whopping 0, btw that's why Yuzu's SC 2015 SP got 76 or something).

I agree that doubles being invalid elements (unless 2A or second part of combo) is quite harsh 

That's why it's so important not to pop in the sp  

 

@DaPurpleDino I use an addon in Firefox (flash video downloader or something, I can check if you need)

I use keepvid, it usually works fine. 

 

And Nathan got a +COMBO for his Lz, and -4 on it. He got the regular score on the 4T, with negative GOE coz of how it was. With an invalidated combo, apparently, the default score goes to zero and then the tech panel sorts it out.
