  1. Oh so my eyes werent deceiving me it was actually landed forward! I guess the most close one that jump could be called is a half axel or also called a bell jump, i was debating whether it's a one foot axel or that since yuzu immediately turn his landing foot once its on the ground so its hard to catch. Technically, its a half axel, based on take off and landing, but since thats mostly used only in practice in order to master an axel, no one really make that move with a Gigantic Leap style. At least i dont think anyone ever made it into a leap move? I could be wrong Lets make it into a hanyu leap bc ive been dying of a move to be called by his name lol half axel leap is too long of a name anyway
  2. I just realized i got my wish of yuzuru skating to violin piece again this is a dream come true Also i have to say, i really like it when a succesful artist/performer looks back on their history and remember what made them fall in love with the thing they're doing in the first place. I think its a necessary step to further understand yourself and continue to still enjoy that path, especially when you've already reached everything under the stars.
  3. Yuzu's Origin step sequence outsold im shook right now Edit: i guess the only thing disappointing me is him ditching 3f and 3lz *cries* i hope he'll pick them up again when (and only when) he's 100% healthy
  4. korea refused and the finland fed only got asked a week ago?! Talk about short notice! o_O Can you imagine if no one actually wanted to host the cancelled coc? damn... this almost turned into a disaster orz not surprised that two olympic champions are going there
  5. We yuzu's 3F lover are gonna be so deprived But wouldnt 3Lz be more dangerous for him if he's still managing his injury at the start of next season? Is the chance of him learning lo3F really that low What if he does 3A3Lo tho
  6. Oh yeah at least now he gets consequences if he does that, thanks for reminding me
  7. Aah i see. this is why the vote shouldnt be a package thing like that, makes it even more confusing smh isu Holy crap nathan can still go with a 'only 4 type of jumps' layout even with this rule. i did not see this coming
  8. Any restriction on repeating quads has never been in usfa men skaters' favor (2 of them at least). I dont know why many seems to think so. Repeating 4Lz and/or 4F in combo and solo will always be a huge advantage. Nathan isnt really an edge jumper so.... This ruling doesnt really favor him. He'll probably just do 4 quads. Because falling while trying 4Lo again is a huge risk now, especially when he come into this season as a current world champion with a certain momentum and he is still trying to win the judges affection, or maybe you could say he already won them but he's still in the stage where he needs to maintain it. Or maybe he has the courage on not playing it safe like a certain someone, but i dont know, i kinda doubt that somehow.
  9. There was definitely something going on there. My preference is actually Bonus for six type jumpers, w no change in zayak like last season > 1 quad repetition > no quad repetition >>>> no change at all allowing skaters to potentially, hypothetically, jump only 4 type of them in the free with no consequences
  10. It is only effective if the repetition thing didn't pass. Hence why i thought it would be a good idea to combat it. But too bad that clearly the isu people prefer the no quad repetition rule. Its a good thing that they at least allow 1 quad repetition now. Maybe they reach a compromise? behind the scene
  11. Sorry i just saw this but i wasnt talking about the backload proposal? In fact i hate that proposal as well. 1 jump bonus only in secondhalf sp is a monstrosity. I was talking about the 'reward skaters who jump ALL SIX types of them to promote variety' proposal. This proposal is under the backloading proposal in the original pdf document. This proposal is more straightforward in 'variety' and a way to combat the no repeat quad proposal, they even use the same 'variety' thing as a reason. Too bad it is withdrawn. Also, in the original document, the killing backloading thing is used to justify 'balance', not 'variety', i dont know what the heck happened that they bring up variety in the conference regarding killing backloading bc it makes no freaking sense at all. Maybe the person who propose it and the person who go to the conference as a representative has a mismatch view lol
  12. Im glad the zayak rule passed pheeww, AND this is better than not allowing a quad repetition at all, limiting to only one. I guess they reached a compromise behind the scene (maybe japan made this happen considering what they propose earlier lol but im still gonna miss that 'need to jump all six types' proposal bc it was better) But this also means that 3A will be more important than ever! Which is a good thing for me bc i love axel, but a nightmare for anybody who dont have stabilized 3A. What astonished me is they really dont care that we all know they negotiated behind the conference? What with passing that whole tech package stuff?
  13. You just blow my mind It really feels like what gets passed and what gets voted yes are already fixed, and we're the only one who dont know
  14. Since japan withdraw that 'reward skaters who jump all six type of jumps in free' they will most likely vote yes on the 'no quad repetition' rule bc its essentially a more evil version of what they want to propose, n serve the same purpose, kinda
  15. They dont need to place it at the end if they train a huge bv quad like 4lz n 4f, just land it beautifully n the goe will make up for the x1.1 bv. They just need to train two of the highest bv quad possible for them, and then repeat it in combo. Thats 4 already. The more you train only that, the more those jumps stabilize, the more you go clean on competition. The more you win? And then the rest, just jumps the same type of jumps in triple bc that will benefits you more. Avoid the type of jumps that you have difficulty on completely, dont even train it. If its two type of jumps then be it. You just need 3 type of jumps you need to /really/ excel at, two of those you need the quad version, and then pray you land the axel.
  16. Its complicated, this would be better definitely, but no one is proposing it right now for next season. The only one we have is that quad restriction rule... Which is simpler (no repeat of quad, thats it) :'(
  17. whaaaaat? So we are back to relying on no quad repetition rule for giving skaters more of a fair chance, Aaah i guess they really want lz n f Jumper to win I wish i didnt read this now im back to worrying about that cursed 4 type of jumps free layout winning the gold again And to think that was so straightforward too on 'variety' why the hell would they withdraw it, dont tell me theyre actually planning on voting yes for the quad repetition rule
  18. I have just discovered that japan is actually genius. Theyre the one who come up with the tactic to combat those no quad repetition rule, with giving credits/bonus to skaters who jump all six of them. Theyre the one who think about the zayak rule i ranted about before. Im regretting not reading the whole proposal sooner. I love japan. I dont have to worry about that cursed 4 type of jumps free layout ever again. I dont even care how the rest of this go lol
  19. Yup yup yup. Finally! I have been searching for someone who thought of this too, i think i might cry... 4lz and 4f will be advantagous regardless of rules, its becoming more like ladies event where you need stabilize F n Lz to win. Doing them in combo is very advantageous. However im also of the opinion that repeating them both in solo is slightly more advantageous than only doing both of those combos. Bc you can tack a combo after it if you wobble or cant in the first one, and 4lz and 4f solo is still a lot better than any other quad solo, not to mention, you only need to train and stabilize two jumps. you will achieve cleanness more easily. As in, just skip 4t 4s 4lo and go straight for those two and repeat both in combo, thats it. Especially if youre good at both. i think its the 4lo who will be left out completely, bc if one is more of an edge jumper theyll choose 4s over 4t
  20. This is what i was talking about. That with one less jumping pass it benefits 4Lz n 4F jumpers so much. But ppl only blame the no repeat quad rule for it. Even though the truth is, they get even more benefit without it. Repeating both 4lz and 4f (get more bv than doing 4lz/4f combo n then solo other quads), reducing the jumps they will likely fall on (their worst jump), stabilizing and going clean by doing a lot of same type of jumps (same rhythm), resulting in only 5 or even worse, 4 type of jumps in the free.
  21. Wow they actually told the truth, i didn't expect that o_O I think i explained before how the no quad repetition rule is only the consequence of the cutting time and the less jumping pass, but i guess no one really reads it bc its so fcking long or people must have think that post (or i?) suck up to the isu so much (even though i hate isu as well lmao i think i was halfway to quit fs altogether after i found out about the stsq and spin bv decrease) I didn't watch the streaming bc it seems full of bad arguments and i didn't have the time anyway But it still makes me sad that everywhere i look people really seem to support the possibility of 'only 4 type of jumps for free layout' winning the gold (i think xmonster on tumblr is the only other person who also didn't want this to happen which is honestly more than enough for me :') ) Skaters who's best jumps are 4Lz and 4F must ve very happy. Here is the 'only 4 type of jumps' layout that can be allowed technically if isu wont pass the quad repetition rule and wont do anything else regarding zayak, with the chance of winning next season being very high bc BV, and stabilized jumps bc its literally filled with only 2 type of jumps (with similar technique even wow): 4Lz3T 4Lz 4F2T 4F 4T 3Alo3F 3Lz (For the 5 quads lovers) 4Lz3T 4Lz 4F2T 4T 3F3T 3A 3Lz (if you like going clean everytime) Salchow and Loop are close to being forgotten (especially loop). Most of the men will drop their worst jump, so 'only 5 type of jumps free layout' will be the norm next season! If only there is some rule that could reward skaters who insists on performing ALL type of jumps! (Like this one guy who has certain ideals for his skating, i seem to recall he just won his second olympic gold) Or make it a little bit more fair to the the rest of the skaters who are not good at both the flip and Lutz jumps bc, clearly, this benefits the lz and f jumper so much.... Or i dont know, a rule that dont highly encourage skaters to drop a type of jumps? Oh wait (On another hand i have a conspiracy theory that they didn't explain the reason clearly in the congress bc those ppl actually want the rule to be gone too (but with the chance of it never coming back so it needs to be passed first and then get repealed later) so they make ppl mad and really hate it first now) yeah yeah i know how it sounds thats why i said its a conspiracy theory lol Sorry if this sounds too... Idk aggresive? I just, really want to say something bc its been driving me crazy lol Eta: i guess even if that rule wont pass or will be repealed later, men's event will be just becoming more like ladies' event which is hardly the end of the world. If anything theyd fall less when their jumps stabilized, even if everyone avoid 1 or 2 jump types completely. Ladies' event is the most bearable one to watch fully for me, so 🤷
  22. I'm so happy and proud and idk what else im overwhelmed by feelings, yuzuru's words are so beautiful and heartfelt congratulations! The award is big and gold im sure he will be very happy to receive it!
  23. Wasn't raya leaving? Since its said that they have worked out schedules i think theyre still gonna maintain the 'not training with direct competitor that frequently' rule. Direct competitor in the same level is boyang - yuzu. I dont think jason and jun are on their level yet so im putting the both of them on the same level below it. Evgenia and gabby are both world medalists so theyre not gonna train together often. They also had a team of coaches not just brian, ghislain and tracy. It could work out. In theory. I really hope it works out. On another note, maybe its a good thing waka isnt moving there and only had access with ghislain and slb for jumps and choreo. She gets the best offer without the messy parts of moving into a new and not-yet-tested training environment.
