"we are the champions" not exactly the music I'd pick for this Men's event :headdesk:

:peekapooh:

Cup of disaster never fail to live up its name   I hope Javi's fine and comeback stronger at IDF. I still think Brian absent had a big impact on him He said that he had good training in toronto so at least its not injury ? Maybe its just a bad event for him, like GPF last year.

The highlight for me is Han Yan. Nice to see him skate well. I dont like all top 3'sLP, especially Boyang. Tbh this program will not do him any favour. Just go back to La strada please.

this event was pretty underwhelming for men, tho we can't forget Keiji and Mika got personal best for the SP:tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid:... but then the FS :tumblr_inline_ncmiffG34Z1rpglid::facepalm:

but Mika still gold so ok. And Boyang managed to hold onto silver. Good. (I'm really seeing a lot of things in common between Boyang and Yuzuru:laughing:).

That bronze to Max Aaron is honestly astonishing, but he was clean and the others weren't, so...:slinkaway: and to think that now he has better shots at GPF than Patrick and Javi:peekapooh:

btw I've rewatched COR Seimei :tumblr_inline_n18qr5lPWB1qid2nw:and the first thing that stands out (after enduring today's men's programs) is how darn fast Yuzuru is. I felt like begging him to slow down so I could follow him better (of course he cares more about music and choreo than poor fans and poor cameraman who had hard time at keeping him in the frame :13877886:). Stsq and choreo sequence that can grip the audience and with tons of character. Wonderful music cut (Boyang, I don't know how your current FS can help you to showcase that you are a indeed a good skater, I'm feeling really sorry for you). And his short set up for jumps is insane (still remembering the emptiness of some programs between jumps). When the program ended I thought: noooo, so soon?

Both of them are out of the GPF, Patrick having withdrawn and Javier ended up too low, he is out. Max on the other hand is in the game, there's one place that's really open so he could go for it. Still, it won't be easy as a lot of what happened today had to do with how the others skated.

Whops I've forgotten Patrick retired. *living in alternative reality were SC and COC didn't happen*

ETA OMG I've become 3A! First time I realize I've changed rank:tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid:

not even the likes of plushenko can save the shit that is boyang's FS

That is probably the best way to describe that. Nobody could bull doo-doo his way out of an iffy program like Plushy could have, and yet ...

Seriously, go back Boyang darling. LS wasn't ideal by any means, but by miles better.

Oh, jesus, wtf is this season? Javi isn't going to the GPF, wtf. I actually haven't watched the programs, I got up late and I'm on my way to a rink to practice, so I only just checked the results. I think my motivation just disappeared, though... Wow... I'm kinda too scared to watch the videos...

That smile on Kolyada's face says it all. Hmmm, with him doing so well now the chances of gold for Team Russia elevate....

Nice to see Max Aaron skate so well. He is a guy who can bring it on good days and be rotten on others, so he seems to have things working for him right now. Good confidence booster for him.

I think Javi might be feeling a bit mentally tired, just like Patrick. It's a short, but stressful season, and to sustain a high level throughout it is almost impossible. Maybe there is a bit of a funk and the time for high intensity training isn't quite here yet.. some people need a sense of urgency to motivate and it's only November and he knows, unlike many of the other guys, that he IS going to the Olympics. At this point, I'm not overly worried. He usually peaks at the right time and  while in the Olympic season you want to gain momentum, it is also possible to just go and skate lights out on the days, especially as he is a 2 time WC known for having the goods. I would hope that not having Brian around would not affect him with all of his experience, but sometimes these things can make an impact too.

And boyang has to fix his jumps... no matter what he skates to, as his jumps go, so does he.... (and I still love 3/4 of the music cuts in his SW program... his choreo to it however is another story)

@Eclair's twitter account has some translations from the German ESP commentators for both men and ladies. They also thought Wakaba was robbed in PCS.

be warned though, those commentators are not known for sugarcoating anything. ^^

I love that they don't sugarcoat anything! And glad to see them acknowledging Vincent's potential. He ended up with the highest tech score in the FS and respectable PCS for a  just turned 17 year old. The US needs to send this kid to the Olympics.
