They really getting a lot of love. I think I saw two to three ads on YouTube with Nathan already.

That is why I use Adblock

well...2 points is not good to me... let's say it is 2 points gap. If Javi and Patrick are there, they might make the gap bigger, they need to insert Javi and Patrick into the gap.

I think they know the difference pretty well, even better than us, but they don't want to give the score difference.

Just watched Javi and Vincent's FS..."those are my relatives" lol Vincent got a lot of support

Need CoR SEIMEI now to recover...bye

PCS gaps from GP events so far (using highest awarded for Mikhail)

Shoma: 0.11 in the SP, 3.22 in FS = 3.33 points lower than Yuzu in PCS

Mikhail: 3.01 in SP, 5.38 in FS = 8.39 points lower than Yuzu

Boyang: 5.39 in SP,  15.76 in FS = 21.15 points lower than Yuzu

Nathan: 3.64 in Sp, 5.98 in FS = 9.62 points lower than Yuzu

Jason: 1.54 in SP, 3.72 in FS = 5.26 points lower than Yuzu

and even though they're unlikely to get a GPF spot...

Max: 8 points in SP, 14.4 in FS = 22.4 points lower than Yuzu

Samarin: 8.99 in SP, 16.02 in FS = 25.01 points lower that Yuzu

Vincent: 10.09 in the SP, 19.30 in the FS = 29.39 points lower than Yuzuru

Even when we're looking at the results from Yuzuru's first GP aka the event that is consistently Yuzuru's worst in the season, his PCS is at least 3 points clear of everyone and Shoma had a really good showing at SC.

If Yuzu does two good almost clean/cleanish programs at NHK his PCS will be bigger and judges at GPF will be more inclined to reward him in PCS in he skates cleanish at GPF. So long as Yuzuru rotates he'll be fine since his BV difference isn't that huge and he outscores pm everyone in GOE when he gets all his elements. The closest threat is Shoma but I don't see him managing to score higher than Yuzu in PCS with this season's programs unless Yuzuru bombs (Shoma only got very slightly higher than Patrick at SC because...Patrick. bombed and it affected his performance. If Patrick hadn't bombed, Shoma would not have gotten similar PCS to him) , Shoma's average GOE ain't that high and GPF tends to not be his strongest event  I'm not worried for Yuzu.

From the trend observed so far, I would say that Shoma has more love from the judges. His PCS(only around 3 point gap from Yuzu and with javi and Patrick not making GPF you bet the judges will raise it more and elevate him into the leading pack of PCS at GPF) and GOE are almost comparable with Yuzu's even with his interesting "wiggles" and "special" jump technique...Like Tat said... When you are in love you can't be objective..I think many of them are in love with him.

But of course we cannot underestimate Nathan and the power of USA (politick and sponsorship lol), they are really working on his balletic and artistic narrative with he new magazine spread and ads..

So needless to say, Yuzu need to bring his A game and also redeem TCC pride ( Javi... :sadPooh:)..

It's crazy how much can change within the span of two competitions of the GP this season in figure skating! :tumblr_inline_mzx91uuLRI1r8msi5:

First Patrick bombs SC then withdraws, now here Javi doesn't do well at the CoC and might not even have a chance for the GPF, wow. It's so sad that older generation skaters are having a hard time keeping up with the new generation's quadsters. With them in the field, it definitely brings more mature interpretation of the music and skating in general which I really enjoy. As mentioned earlier, this year's GPF might really by Yuzu against the young quadster squad —which would be interesting but I hope Yuzu can outshine them all and grab his 5th win! :8430721:

I wish I could watch NHK on livestream next week with you all but I'll have to be present at an important event the entire weekend...will wish him good luck though!!

eeehhhhh being realistic Javi is not making it to GPF.

If Javi gets gold at IDF he'll have 20 points towards qualification.

For 20 points to be enough to qualify Jason will have to finish 5th or lower. If we say Jason does badly and finishes 5th, he'll also have 20 points but Javi could win the tie-break if we assume he gets gold and some big scores at IDF.

If Jason gets higher than 5th then Boyang would have to get lower than 5th at Skate America for the same scenario, to get 20 points and have Javi get the spot on tie break.

Also at IDF, as well as Javi needing to get gold, Max Aaron and Alexander Samarin both need to come in 4th or lower (if either one come in 4th they'll have 20 points and go to tie break) and Vincent Zhou and Misha would need to finish 3rd or lower.

oh and Adam needs to get 20 points or lower and not have any better results than Javi.

tdlr: He needs to win IDF then have Jason OR Boyang low-key bomb so one of them gets 20 or lower and have Misha, Max, Alexander, Vincent and Adam to get 20 or lower so he can beat them on tie breakers.

Javi's kind of f*cked. :sadPooh: He shouldn't have eaten the food! (or whatever it was that made him sick) Now I know why Yuzu is so picky....

I want Jason to make it to the final and he has a good chance for it. Would it be the first time he makes a GPF?

It is. He was robbed of his chance to go to the GPF in 2014 by... Jeremy Abbott bombing. Yuzuru Hanyu went instead... - he got in by 0.15 points

... and antis keep bringing this up as Yuzu being favoured /LOL/.

Wait, how did that happen? Would he have had a chance to go if Jeremy hadn't bombed?

Sure, but then Yuzu wouldn't have got in. He was still ailing after his CoC collision then, so it was a really distressing performance by him.

As for how it happened: Yuzu was fifth after his SP, and if he had remained fifth, he wouldn't have made it to the GPF. Jason would have got in instead. But Jeremy obligingly popped enough jumps for him to lose... and yeah, Yuzu was once again accused of being a judge favourite. But his 2+4 placement was enough to make it to the final. And then he won the final by a landslide.

Yep. It will be curious if one of them will be rewarded more than the other. They both have weak points that the judges can exploit if they want to. Will it be a one vs. one between JSF and US Fed? xD If we get strict technical judging, Nathan would be the lucky one and Shoma would be in disadvantage. But if they act kind of stricter PCS wise, Nathan's PCS will have to fall behind Shoma. Which... I'm not really totally comfortable with, since Nathan gives me much more emotion with his SP than Shoma does. But ok.

Both Shoma and Nathan have one gold in GPF so far, right? Shoma will probably win the second in France. Well, it's no doubt on who the candidates are for the GPF podium already... btw, the same from last year, right?  (secretely hoping for Boyang to kick one of them off the podium... possibly not Yuzuru. LOL who am I kidding, they will never physically part him from that fifth gold medal even if the whole ISU tries to)

I'm unsure why people are wondering how Nathan and Shoma will be scored when alongside each other. Shoma will still score higher, as he has been, unless he completely bombs but even then his bombing is more of the falling (and REP) kind than the popping jumps and losing BV kind.
