Featured Replies

I know the men would be a mess(that's why I'm out for the dinner) but I didnt expect this ??? Max Aaron won the free ?????

Oh dear Javi he looked tired. And I think Brian's not there really affect him. He once again didnt make GPF in Oly season. First Patrick, now Javi follow Yuzu's  ACI popstar concert

Seriously I'm a bit worried about Yuzu now. I need a huge pray circle next week. :slinkaway:

..... I cannot anymore. honestly, even if I don't believe in jinxing, I feel that we shouldn't try to predict anything ever again. every time I seeing predictions with the one I'm rooting for as winning I get so anxious. not good for my heart in the long run

Need to print it and put on my desk. To reread every day and get some calm from it.

Just hang in there! :10742289: Olympics season is stressful for the fans as well!

Honestly guys, there's no need to worry about Yuzuru. That man's headspace is something entirely different. He thrives on challenges. Yes, we have various judging issues and whatnot but when it comes to Yuzuru himself, he'll be fine.

I agree I think ever since he finished off the podium at World's last season I feel like his confidence has been dashed like he's second-guessing himself.

Yes. And maybe that's what I'm picking up from him--he's second guessing himself prior to some of his jumps. That was really hard to watch today. Just as it was hard to watch Patrick last week.

I hate Olympic years.

That’s what I’m saying. I’m nervous and excited for NHK but I’m not overly scared. Lol.

Sorry but Javi and PChan really look like they lost their mojo while Yuzu is getting his.

There's a huge difference between skaters who are settling for what they can do and deciding against risking the new ones they've been trying in practice and the one who keeps pressing forward on on all fronts.

I'm so surprised why judges didn't throw PCS candies to Javi this time...

Still remembered he's always got 90+ even he bombed so badly. :slinkaway:

Well, honestly, Yuzu, Javi and Patrick have always been put in the same category in contrast to Chen, Uno and Boyang, but... Yuzuru really doesn't have a lot in common with them, apart from having the same coach as Javi. He is younger, so not quite in the same generation - he's in the same 'generation of type of skating', but... Yuzuru has proved that he wants to (and succeeded in) evolving with the sport, while Javier and Patrick have given signals that they have their limits, that they want to continue skating the way they know and like.

So, it's not a surprise to me that suddently the differences between Yuzuru and Patrick and Javi are highlighted.

One other big difference is training. Yuzuru overtrained in the past and really has to pull himself back not to do the same now. Javi is the opposite. Didn't he start training since the second half of August? So, maybe it's not only a mental problem, with him.

So, your description is actually perfect. Yuzuru prepared himself for all his skating carreer for this. For now. The only thing I'm sure of is that yes, Yuzu will probably be sorry about Javi and Patrick. But he needs to focus on himself because he knows he has something else in store.

..do you think it will affect Yuzu negatively, Javi not being at gpf with the familiar feeling of friendly competition towards him?

I’m still so mad about Boyang’s FS choreography. It’s clear he hasn’t grasped any kind of idea about what he should be conveying or trying to say with it (because there IS NO THEME to the bloody program). He was totally emotionally disconnected, there was no conviction in his movements and he was barely looking up half the time. Half of it might be stamina/jumps but still. Ugh. He deserves so much better

I won’t lie, I’m slightly nervous about Yuzu but I think it comes from the emotional strain of two consecutive weeks of shock upsets more than anything he’s doing; everything feels uncertain like we can’t assume anything. We just need him to skate normally. I do worry he may be affected by Javi’s absence and maybe mood during training though, but maybe they’ll empower each other.

Aaand im gonna continue being livid about the ladies judging
