Well the mens free was definitely full of surprises, not all good. Shoma's Turnadot 2.0 is not better than the first one so that's too bad. But hearing Samarin even mention a 4lutz/.5/3flip is more than my brain can handle right now. 

 

I was thinking that maybe Patrick needs Yuzu to bring out his fighting spirit but, from what I read on another forum, it sounds like it may be more serious, that he's lost the will to keep competing at the highest level.

I overslept. I am done with these judges but I don't care, Jason got silver, he's happy. Please Jason, dress as a bumblebee or something, would be better than this. At least make the pants darker? A lot darker? Midnight blue if not black?

I found it weird when I didn't see a fall deduction too.....I never knew falls can be subjective too?

I have to see what his second GP event is, maybe he'll get to go to the Final, how awesome would that be? If, fates forbid, Chiddy doesn't, we'll need somebody other than Chan to skate like that. ISU would look like such idiots when one of the most beautiful, elegant skaters doesn't get the PCS even.

As for Patrick, part of me is wondering if we should fold some origami spirit animal for him and send them over. He's came back after a year away, and has come so far, it's kind of sad, and even odd for him to be that down on himself.

I guess they hesitate to give it to skaters who dont land many quads bc they wanna avoid the cries for candies from casual viewers? Idk. He's not in his best, yes, but his SS n TR is still ahead of others here. He just sounds so sad n defeated, i dont want it to become a mental problem

Oh dear, I checked the result and think its weird because I didnt see Patrick. I thought maybe I woke up too soon and he didnt skate yet until I found he's 7th in FS . I thought ladies were a mess so the men could better, but nope.  A very lackluster event (again). Patrick why Patrick, I feel he lose focus after the 4T fall, its very similar to Yuzu's FS at ACI. His TES is yikes. But I like this program, better than his SP for sure. Alot of unfortunate things happen to him at this comp, I hope he can fight back at NHK. 

Shoma's LP is a bit messy, and this program is just so empty and didnt have any highlight. His Turandot 1.0 is much better. And its weird that they didn't call his 4T as a fall. 

Jason did ok, and deserve silver. But I also feel he was affect by Patrick, he didn't have his usual freedom and relax. 

I really like Nic's LP. He has the best Elvis program and I'm glad he reuse it. 

At this point I'm glad Yuzu did COR. Even getting silver and many mistakes, his performances are really good. I dont know why, but Skate Canada always have some kind of bad energy IMO. Sorry if my words might offend Canadian fans here. 

 

 

 

Jason still has one of the best spirals, men's and ladies combined. And his skating tends to work with whatever outfit he wears, since you tend to focus on his skating and ignore the outfit. But this time, I think he can switch back to his older costumes, because I don't think Blue is his color. And neither is a onesie-please use black slacks, thanks. 

SC this year was just weird for the ladies and the men's...something funky is in the fengshui there.
