I think we should trust Yuzu to know his own body. The same style doesn't work for all skaters, and it's hard with the 4A because it's uncharted territory, so it's not like we can successfully compare different approaches. Also, Midori was great, but sometimes she looked a bit uncontrolled. Wasn't she the one who literally went flying out the rink one time because her jump was too big?

I agree. Yuzu has been experimenting with the 4A for so long now. As outsiders it is easy to say he should have jumped like this or that, but there is a reason for him to tackle the 4A the way it is now, very different from where it was some months ago.

Trust him. He is figuring it out.

Obviously he knows best. Obviously we all trust him etc..  I was just saying my wish from a physics point , not that it would work for him.

fyi, Midori fell out of the rink into the cameraman  because the boards were cut away in the spot where she jumped too close. It was a 2t.

Btw, was it Semenenko who did the spin in the middle of the ring while Yuzu was approaching his combo?

Yuzu had the right of way, lordy! It could have been dangerous for both.

I might be only watching live until Yuzu (if that). I was thinking of maybe catching up later but remembering that the performance wouldn't be readily available unlike other comps I decided to steel myself a bit (despite my nervouness and all) and try watch it live...

NOPE I don't want this energy here😱

I remember him doing well after clean rt tho

Yes, I concur!   His run through was not actually perfectly clean, he seemed to have too much energy and had to catch himself from over rotating the 3A, and it seems the ice is really giving him a fast speed.  He seemed to be adjusting his energy level to suit the ice, but overall, the ice condition seems to be really good for doing edge jumps.

His Short Program is easy for him, technically speaking, and he doesn't really need to confirm his jumping techniques here.  I would have expected a clean (or nearly clean) rn here.  (This is not like the 4S-3T issues of the Hope and Legacy days, when the timing just wasn't working out.)  For the short, he is clearly going for the maxium PCS artistic expression with technically the most difficult transitions and step sequences.  He doesn't care about adding BV just to catch up to Nathan, I think he is challenging the world to appreciate figure skating in its maximal format and the h*ll with the judging system.  If he can perform like he did in JNats (or with even more refinements), this program will be remembered forever in the FS history, long after the names of the champions had been forgotten.

I was at the Worlds in 1977 which was held in Tokyo, and still remember the gorgeous performance given by Vladimir Kovalev, even to this day.  Yuzu's performance is already 100 X more memorable than even Kovalev's!

I found this quite funny! (If anyone is unfamiliar, the Daily Show is a satirical show with a sarcastic sense of humor)

Akdnfkdjficncj Trevor Noah (or someone in his writing team) has good taste™ 😏 (truly a person of culture 😎✨). (Also that bit of falling into the tornado alfjlghklhll 😅)

(My only input is that he is the GOAT, and if anything he and Gritty might actually get along swimmingly :xD: (after shoving his head into Domo-kun's mouth, what else is there for Yuzu to fear regarding yuru charas/mascots? 😂🤣))

Drop box LoL.

Lordy madness. That monster of a program was developed literally via cloud. Good things both Yuzu and Jeff are geniuses.

I can't help it... I still want him to skate into it faster... like a Midori approach rather than a Mao approach. Those of you who watched minority back in the day will understand me.

As @guitarist has said, we have to trust Yuzu to know what he’s doing. He has said that he has to balance the speed of the rotations and his axis. I believe that the slower approach results in a proper axis whereas throwing himself into the jump as he did at WTT will result in falls.

He's not in his group, could it be Mozalev Andrei?!  :smiley-angry022: But skaters should know at least to stay away in someone's runthrough.. that was dangerous!!

One of the Russian kids. It was dangerous. Even the commentators noticed it. Some people really have troubles respecting right of way. At least Yuzu had good spatial awareness.

If you are watching any stream other than JPN, NBC, CBC, Eurosport, can you please please save the video of Yuzu's performance at the very least if you can 🙏🙏🙏 Thank you very much!

Who else is streaming?  I'm currently (with a VPN) doing Canada, but, anyone - would I rather do Eurosport and what country do I want my computer in for that?  (I refuse to watch NBC -)

I thinkkk @sallycinnamon should be able to record Eurosport right? (Correct me if I'm wrong.) What about BBC? Are they doing anything?
