One of the Russian kids. It was dangerous. Even the commentators noticed it. Some people really have troubles respecting right of way. At least Yuzu had good spatial awareness.

I think ever since ~that~ Cup of China practice Yuzu has been hyper aware of where skaters are on the ice

I just saw part of the stream from Japanese media. And wow, the guy assisting Yuzu sprayed sanitizer on the surface before putting Pooh on the boards. Talk abt being careful.

Yesterday Yuzuru didn't smile a single time during whole practice. And he always smiles. Whether because he consoles himself after mistakes or he is simply goofy. Last time when I remember him like that was during GPF19, whe he was completely thrown out because of sudden change of his routine.

Yuzu popped his sal and scored 95.15, finishing 8th. Twitter says his skate got caught in the ice, but I don’t know for sure. God bless Yuzu and help him through the hard times. We love Yuzu, and he is still the GOAT, and always will be. He needs our love and support now more than ever. Pray he lands the 4A for his sake, not for ours. That is his real goal, but if it doesn’t happen now, it will happen later.  it’s all good, because nothing can take us from him or him from us. He is our beloved Yuzu. Forever.

Definitely got caught by hole in the ice. And it's a pretty huge one.

It's not mistake. It's an accident. The hole was very big. I am glad he did not get injury.

Spoiler

Well you know what, even if our greatest wish (ie. straight third gold medal for Yuzu) is fulfilled, it still doesn't negate the fact that ISU/USFSA has to be razed down to the ground, cleansed by fire... :fire::003::003:

I’m glad he didn’t attempt to rotate it. He must have felt that it was wrong and canceled the entire jump. Too bad that in situations like this, the faulty ice, the skater can not redeem the jump within the program so that at least some points to be added instead of zero. At least as a BV points jump, no GOE added.
Wish this would be added to the ISU rules and regulations.

Yeah props to him, I reckon most other skaters, even some who competed today, would likely have injured themselves in his position. It took skill to even pop that jump like he did given how his blade caught

I didn’t see this post of urs until now. Perhaps something was bothering him the entire session or he was too focused on checking up on sth. Perhaps this is why he asked the TCC team to sit out this time around and only support him backstage. He has been used to not having coaches physically by his side for so long now, having them with him would probably have rattled him to some extent.

I'm still asking Universe how many more obstacles Yuzu should suffer before achieving his dream 4A? Unfair judging the whole quad, Ghislain passport in 2019, JNat 2019 physical issues, two years practicing in midnight all alone, asthma attack in Stockholm, injury right before NHK 2021 (and in July), a big fat ass hole on the SP in Beijing.... The list is probably not complete and we don't know a lot of his issues but @ Universe, can you pls give him a break? It's more than 12 hours since SP has finished and I'm still devastated. Isn't it enough? Shouldn't he be rewarded now?

I also noticed that yesterday he looked in a somewhat different mood than usually. Even if he is focused he smiles at least a few times, maybe after the practice etc. I'll be curious about the next practice.
