Always so lovely! She could compete for fallera mayor infantil (queen of the Fallas festival — Valencia, Spain, child category). https://www.lasprovincias.es/fallas-valencia/fallera-mayor-infantil-valencia-ninas-fueron-reinas-20191015152836-ga.html#vca=modulos&vso=lasprovincias&vmc=noticias-rel-cmp&vli=fallas valencia&ref=

No, because ye knows, Alina Zagitova is not "a high school graduate, one of the titled athletes, a symbol of courage, decency, universal charm and love of all teachers, all coaches, all children", and she is "a former student" (we've never been told she was no more a student?), and how did they know she was too busy if they didn't invite her? After all, they have so many Olympic and World champions in title at hand... That's a deserving occasion for Eteri Tutberidze to show off her talent at pissing off somebody, without abusing a minor who was her charge or revealing private correspondence.

To be honest, I find Prince Eric looks stupid and Prince Phillip is one of those interchangeable, off-the-shelf characters (and I had to Google-search because I didn't remember them to the least)... I'm particular, am't I? I wonder how other Disney tales spectators think of the attractiveness of these princes and others. After all, maybe they shouldn't be too memorable, not to influence children's tastes too much? Yuzuru Hanyu is not my personal type but I can well see he can make dream little girls as well as grown-up women.

Much better. (I remember my deception after discovering the appearance of the prince in The Beauty and the Beast in particular, how insipid, I found the Beast more interesting. I thought then, they may have used pictures of Franz Liszt in his prime youth, or Hergé's King Ottokar, both even and regular but with personality; of course, how better would be Yuzuru Hanyu.)

I am not wholly convinced by the Masquerade, Crystal Memories and Phantom of the Opera ones, but I see the others as great findings.

Yuzuru Hanyu on Wikiquote (discussion thread)
SitTwizzle replied to Henni147's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
There is already a link on his Wikipedia page, to this Wikiquote page. I am so moved he has his Wikiquote page, and so rich and well made! Thank you so much, @Henni147 and @sweetwater, you've done a great, great job! I suppose one may find material enough in Japanese of course, and in Chinese, for Wikiquote pages in this languages, while I am afraid one couldn't reach the amount demanded for pages in other languages. I am thinking particularly about French, there is so little in French about him. A real pity, because his talent "exploded" (to the face of the World) in Nice. EDIT : There is one remark I didn't dare to make because I have no proof (the Youtube video of his Worlds 2017 Free Program on France TV channel being a comment-free version). "Alors, nous sommes très fiers sur France Télévision cet après-midi de vous proposer ce chef d’œuvre absolu. Ce programme est à enregistrer dans toutes les écoles du patinage." Nelson Montfort's tongue may have slipped in the emotion, but the correct expression would be "écoles de patinage".- 60 replies

So cute, his Yuzu-like posture, expression and antennae in the first seconds!

I agree. Happy Mum or happy sister? And I do miss his skating too. Crumbs are crumbs though.

Not an easy choice! Rather complex to interpret, I guess. He chose the original version by Jacques Brel himself, that's so much better. -

With cheese and wine... Now I must include her in the list of suspects for having spoken of it to her pupil. ;-) I am happy she is fine! -

Team we're fewer but still good!

I suppose that, when a New-Yorker compliments Deniss Vasiljevs on his cheesecake, it means something. -
I wouldn't be pessimistic for two reasons. 1) We are still in September and those fits go and come. There was a much stronger one in Belgium in July and it seems to have vanished in August. 2) The SARS-CoV2 (aka CoViD 19) viruses in circulation in France seem to be already on the same path as took SARS-CoV1 when it came : the original strain, quite pathogen, isn't found anymore, only the most recent mutations, which seem much less pathogenic. Given the rules for declaring places in "red zone" this pathogenicity shouldn't influence official decisions, only the numbers of contamination, but given that this very number of contamination is now more closely scrutinised, there could be U-turns (in the region I can follow, the proportion of positive tests haven't changed at all between Spring and Summer : from 9% to 8.5%, but they keep an even and rational cycle threshold of 35 : around 30 there are more and more false positives but they don't want to let a slightly positive person go and become ill and contagious; but over 35 there are no more real positives; and I understand that even in France now, some centres have a CT of 40 or more, leading to mistake traces or sample contamination for whole viruses, so I really don't know what is really going on, though people behaviour can be distressingly irresponsible). I thank you much, @fyere0, for sending the news, because, well, when I see North American people criticise Trump, well I somehow understand them, but for a Frenchie he looks like a competent angel compared to that Olivier Véran, to the point I didn't feel equal to listen to his discourse. I'm a very bad fanyu.

My take on it, is, people who discovered free speech only when adult or in late-teens, have some excuses to have a heedless use of it. It is sad nevertheless. I hope they amend. Yet it seems the young generation (Alina Zagitova, Alena Kostornaia and many others) seem to have the greatest wisdom about it.

Swanyu at GPF'19 ex finale. It may be undiplomatic, but I find this statue much better done than Nikolay Tsiskaridze's made by the St Petersburg's china factory.

I think he gave a hint some day, about his surprise when he learnt his future pupil would be him. His only reserve after all was his age, and would a teenager comply with the exercises he would give him. Since then Brian Orser accepted younger pupils so I'd guess he found the experience positive. (Plus of course, he asked leave to Javier Fernández.) As to Tracy Wilson, her comments to his Worlds 2012 free skating stand for themselves. She knew it, and she said it aloud. And after all, even if his skating skills, his stamina... have improved so much since, his was a program of legend, I mean, one of the great moments in figure skating to the date. And not only in figure skating, methinks. Because, speaking of Shakespeare, I have never seen any other convincing Romeo — I simply thought it was an impossible part. And he was skating, not only acting! And what skating!

Stating it outright without checking can also come from prejudice, can't it? But it reminds me that scene in Clueless, from 1:15 in the video : (Clueless is my preferred adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma; set in 1994 in Beverly Hills; the character of Mr Knightley, here Josh, is not developed, but not as openly misunderstood as in 1996 A&E more "traditional" adaptation; and the scene in question refers of course to Emma's discourses to Harriet about insurmountable differences between gentlemen, yeomen and "the poor", in blatant contrast with Mr Knightley's fine understanding of everybody's ways.)
