They have known Yuzuru Hanyu's (already foreseeable) absence for some time now. And it may weigh on their decision.

Preparing a duo exhibition program? That would be a thing!

Of course I agree. But isn't it a bit of a paradox that a man with such a beautiful neck, and such a wonderful head carriage, can be that appealing with a turtleneck? I wouldn't have dared to think it. But now it is written... Yet, I am not surprised by his being seen as a sex symbol, unless I don't get the whole meaning of the expression. Particularly now that he's grown up. He "has it all", looks, charisma, and if one add his talents and merits...

I really wonder if he really means to skip Nationals. And when he will be allowed in Canada.
-
Will he skate on Beethoven's 5th piano concerto? Great! (Though the sound is poor here.)

Is she switching coaches? May she compete in Grenoble? I am sure the red one will fit him perfectly. The black one I don't know, I hope we will be able to see...

To be honest, this summer France have been rather wildly open (just, one test for people coming from 16 countries, others can enter freely) and careless (particularly between mid-July and mid-August, few masks in shops even when crowded, etc) but we have also had a stupid confinement until May 11th (with police hunting people gone to walk alone or in family in open nature, to fine them) and now there are rumours... I really don't know. Germany have been so much more consistent in their policies — hence probably, at least for the two Länder collaborating to the European Mortality and Morbidity network, their total absence of excess of mortality during the peak of the epidemic, while France was seriously hit. Having so little confidence in French government, I feel unable to bet on such or such measure to be implemented. What is certain is, the disease is in a spread trend since a few weeks (not epidemic yet). As to IdF attractiveness, I should like so much we could have Russian Ladies for instance. Even with Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, Alina Zagitova, Alena Kostornaia and Nathan Chen, and a more efficient ticketing than previous years, they didn't sell all tickets (not only for practice...) and most were inexpensive. Well, this year, if there is attendance, there will be less tickets for sale.
-
So logical that I wonder why they have been announced at all. Will they attend IdF in November?

Are actual judges at international competitions, supposed to take this course on PCs?

Alena Kostornaia too! R.O.C.S. is a Russian brand of oral care. https://www.instagram.com/p/CE3h_7epVCP/?igshid=pzsvtqgdg1pn

We do occasionally use them in a thread, or individually to remember a detail, but after reflection, it may be a lot of work for little use indeed.

"Cute Moments Part 1", some I knew, others I had never seen. Warning : there are "pedo-bird" extracts.

I laughed heartily at the comment suggesting bottling up his command to treat ADHD.
-
Where do you see a bias? It is just pure truth.

I think touching the ice is compulsory, but the question was about the wheel and I tend to think it is permitted but I don't know it for sure.

Probably the mere truth.

I wonder then if "¡Vamos Javiiii!" is a quote worthy of this page. Trying to find where and when he shouted it, I found this article which seems to have some material for other quotes : https://www.insideskating.net/2015/12/21/features/yes-he-can-his-majesty-yuzuru-hanyu- 60 replies

I confess I have long boycotted them, then I stopped after they aired Worlds 2017 on Youtube but I am still a bit reluctant to go on their site.

I'm considering both. Athletes must be particularly protected because they are more at risk (from their exertion) and because CoViD moderate sequels, not "life changing" to the average spectator, may end their career. But it is necessary to avoid spreading the virus in general, and people who move need even more caution. It is clear that the number of available toilets is a factor when deciding how many people can attend an event. And I've never been at an event in an arena. It is a pity if there are not enough toilets.

I didn't know about her mother. A very understandable motive for a move then. I find Veronika Zhilina really impressive and the years to come are crucial, this is why I tend to worry about her and her younger sister.
-
Then, one could wish a survey to establish the proportion between possible causes for heart damage, and if it could raise awareness and lead to a better monitoring of athletes' health, it would make another silver lining.

Your idea is definitely worth a thread! I can't do any research now, but I wonder if there couldn't be a paragraph about how inspirational Yuzuru Hanyu's quotes are?- 60 replies

I really think it possible to organise a championship with audience and zero contamination. I mean, to do things so as to make any contamination much less likely than a car accident on the way, because zero risk doesn't exist. But it is a fact that an audience is a danger to skaters as long as they are not protected by "claddings" suspended to ceiling, not erected on the floor (the latter would "protect" audience of a contamination from the skater, quite unlikely) because in an usual configuration (with good prophylactic other measures), although the viral density over the rink (as elsewhere) remains too low to contaminate a "normal" person, I fear even a very small amount can contaminate an athlete "giving 120%" ©YH and inspiring to the deepest of his/her lungs. I don't think there have been any experiment of the sort to prove it of course, it would be unethical (but there have been unethical experiments in this epidemic).
