at the end of the day Alina is so talented and has so much potential tho. i was really impressed with how she kept it together, being 15, the leader after the short, and having to do that technical content. honestly, i think backloading is more taxing mentally and physically than the 3-4(?) point advantage it gives, although clearly every point was necessary here.

she made do with the shitty choreography she had i guess, that she was always struggling to catch up with bc it was just SO. DAMN. PACKED. i guess we'll never know if she can ever become a more musical or entertaining skater, but i think she has a lot to be proud of. she got the job done.

so did zhenya. she was saying after her score that she did everything she could. she did. she should be proud.

They both went clean,  nothing more and nothing less. One recovered a mistake, and another skated on painkillers. Both should be congratulated for doing well.

And for now, I want to enjoy both of them, because I really don't know if either will last the next quad. Alina has probably growth spurts incoming, Med might still too. Then you have the quad girls, the 3A girls, and the occassional backloading plus quads girls. This is the problem with ladies, we don't have the physical longevity of the men's skaters, so let's enjoy our champs while we can. In about a season or two, we'll have more hair tearing coming up.

Yeap and as much as I'm not a fan of alina, I think she performed her FS best all season today, at least in the first half.. the first ina bauer I thought is on point where it usually is not :P I hope she will continue to skate and grew to her PCS as zhenya did

You mean with Yuzu stealing the whole show?

Somebody remind me what was organized for Nathan? I think I only watched Yuzu's performancd afterwards.

Yes, Yuzu totally stole the show, but I mostly ment that in CoR Yuzu appeared almost with Zhenya and then Nathan had his single appearance of a champion.

UPD: I have nothing against Alina, just can't imagine Swan and Tiger together.

She was crying with happiness. Satoko and Katelyn was still there too.

Of course she was crying with happiness. Some of these posts are utterly ridiculous.

I'm not remotely sad for Alina. She just won a gold medal at the age of 15 and I'm pretty sure she's extremely proud of it. She'll be fine.

You want to be sad for someone? Be sad for Gabby Daleman. What a disaster.

poor gabby :( after the first mistake she looked completely defeated.

So... If Evgenia was skating last in SP she probably would have won?
