That's....a full sweep of TCC's most prominent singles skaters who've been afflicted with something this season right? ))): I thought at least elizabet had escaped :13877886:

I was going to say Gabby had a late start due to her surgery but has been otherwise injury free, but then remembered she had pneumonia at Nationals. :13877886:

I saw her hitting her hip with her fist and wondered. :(

Can somebody please clone Brian Orser so that he can be with his skaters even if they're on different ends of the globe? I know he was there with Gabby, but...

Now I can't help myself but wish for some kind of this:

But with all of TCC singles skaters, since they're basically that.

Well, congrats to our Japanese Ladies for showing middle finger to overcoming judging problems with beautiful skates, still feel sorry for underappreciation of Mai's Long, hope Satton let's that leg rest instead of rushing it into overtraining (same with Elizabeth, tbh), and may Olys Panel be decent for them...

argh, I knew there was something wrong with Lilibet :13877886: she couldn't really have escaped the TCC curse this season, she only happened to get her own ailment later in the season:facepalm::tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid: Let's hope she'll have her TCC comeback too...

Poor Satton, she calls it lack of confidence but, after having been injured and with this new foot problem, it's only natural that her mind wasn't in the right place (and still, she had only one fall!), it's saddenind she blames herself for that. :smiley-sad021:

It's likely that inflammation is a consequence of her trying to get more height on her jumps, so she tries to use more strenght when tapping her toe on the ice...:tumblr_inline_ncmiffG34Z1rpglid:

The tech panel did its job calling URs (tbh imo the Lz was really close to the half mark), but her stsq was lovely and I like her spiral and her layback spin and how she moves her arms and hands throughout the whole program (which is something Kaori has to work on, but Kaori is so young and she has time, and her being "unrefined" somehow works in her FS choreo).

Yes, Satoko's PCS were held down, it could be because of a combination of factors, like the natural stingness towards jpn ladies, tbw, plus that fall might have tarnished the impression from judges, after Mai and Kaori's great free skates...

If I think about other pcs scores we've seen this season, I'd have given Mai way higher scores too, tbh (but for her it's hardly new).

Now Satoko (and Lilibet) should focus only on healing as much as possible in these two weeks. I'm sure that, if her foot is ok, she'll get her confidence back:smiley-angelic001:

I'm so happy for Kaori, she seems to be acquiring confidence competition after competition. Let's hope she can thrive under oly pressure, too.:0006:

I love her jumps, so powerful and so well inserted in the choreo (tho I'm not sure about the edge of her 3Lz, the solo jump in particular, she was wobbling before picking, fighting against switching to inside:unsure2:).

Her 2A in the 2A3T2T combo looked huge:eeking: (I love that combo btw, and I love how each jump and the tano fit the music). I have to say, I like how Kobe girls are packaged this year, both re:layout and strategy and re:programs (too bad sometimes scores don't reflect that... Mai)

Mai <3<3<3 my dear girl! Completely clean comp for her yay!:tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid::tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid:

tbh I'm not sure about the UR call on the Lz, I thought the 3T of the 2A3T combo, or maybe even the 2Lo, had more chances of being called:confused:  Her rippon 3S and her solo 2A are gorgeous:smiley-love017:

A pity she got lv3 on steps, but hers is a lovely stsq, she pours all her emotions there. Congrats for taking silver!!!!

Hurrah for Mai, Kaori and Satoko! Amazing performances from all of them! I really liked Kaori's performance today. And Mai's too. You can really see she's polishing the little details more and more.

Happy with this podium. I think the placements were about right. And Dabin was a joy to watch too. Glad she finished fourth here. All in all a great ladies' event. Congratulations to all the winners!

Just catching up on all these injuries. :sorrow:

Not surprised about Elizabet--that she wasn't doing her Beillmann spin was a very bad sign. (I hate those spins--the risk of permanently injuring yourself with them is not minimal. I would love to see them permanently banned from skating.) Maybe it would have been better for her to skip this competition and save her body for the Olympics. She certainly didn't help her reputation by finishing 12th.

Also not surprised about Satoko after seeing her FS today. I thought there was something not quite right about her skate--it just didn't have her usual amazing fluidity.

Aww, poor Elizabet. Why did she go... she should have rested...,but, i guess she had her reasons. Her body is just so tiny and frail looking that I can imagine how much of a pounding her joints take (everyone's do, but it just looks worse when you're so little)... you could see something was clearly wrong with her here.

Refresh my memory... what illness or injury was Javi suffering from this season? I mean, everyone else at TCC has had something and I just can't remember what his issue was....

Very happy for Kaori! I think she is the best and maybe one of the best in the world (and can be a real superstar if she gets better choreo and projects more and works on her polish) so I am glad for her win.

Looking at the scores I think the Olympic Podium will be Alina-Evgenia-Kaetlyn or Evgenia-Alina-Kaetlyn. Gabby can replace Kaetlyn for the bronze if Kaetlyn makes many mistakes. I just don't see anyone else who's really contending, except Carolina if she skates perfectly and adds the Lutz but the likelihood of that is very low.

He had an upset stomach at COC. Because of that he didn't have enough energy for his jumps at the free skate.

Is pathetic the right word? Did she really said that about Satoko skating?

Isn't that a mistranslation? I don't believe Hamada can say that when she can clearly see that Satoko is trying hard.

I'm hoping that she meant the skating with mistakes is below par, and not that Satton's pathetic. The former I can imagine with strict asian coaches, the latter is a bit no and not likely.

CHN and AUS judges would have given Mai the win and MEX and ZAF judges were great fans of the Amelie FS.

Stomach upset which ruled him out of GPF with his final standing at Cup of Disasters.

Nasakenai is in negative light translated as pathetic, but Jisho gives me also the "miserable, pitiable, shameful and deplorable" as other meanings, so it could basically mean that this was a bit of pitiable performance/competition. Plus she doesn't state "this is pitiable", just "pitiable" in itself, so it can be everything, from skating, to overal situation. (but the grammar states that it was said to Satoko by her coach, or that's how Satoko recalls it. Knowing Satton, she probably thought it's about her...though she's been with Hamada for quite long time so I doubt her coach would make such a simple miscommunication mistake.)

I looked again at Mai's second 3lz and really cannot see a UR there...  when I saw it live I wondered if something happened, because it looked similar to how she landed it at Nats, but on repeat I didn't see the issue... sure, it could have been the difference between 1st and 2nd, but then they also gave the ! to the flip, lol. Still, it was well done after such a great program from Kaori. Kaori seems like she's ready for the Olympics, she's just so far not letting anything bother her.

OTOH, I feel sad for Satoko that she is beating herself up for her mistake, she shouldn't do that after all she's overcome to be at this point. She isn't used to falling in competitions, so maybe it's new for her, but everyone has an off day. I wonder if worry about her condition and then Olympic pressure are getting to her.... She should develop that selective amnesia like Federer (sorry, I watched tennis too early this am) after a bad day and just go on to the next competition with a blank slate.
