According to coach Sonoko Nakano, Mai Mihara resumed training a few days ago. She is going to skip international competitions in September and will condition herself for Kinki Regional scheduled in early October. She hasn't started practicing difficult jumps yet, but the coach said that she seemed to have regained some of the weight she had lost and looks brighter after she got back on the ice.

Thank you for the update, I was hoping to hear some good news from Mai...

To be honest, I am in constant fear that she will retire early because of her health. She is my favourite lady, and the reason I started following the ladies. I love her skating, personality and courage and wish her the best always. I pray that she gets better and comes back stronger to have a wonderful season :smiley-angelic001:

Agreeing with every sentiment you wrote.

Please, please, please...

I don’t suppose anybody saved Wakaba’s new SP before the video was taken down, did they? I know it’s only two weeks until Lombardia but I have a mighty need!

It will be aired again on Sep. 16th by J sports 4... yes it is slightly after Lombardia.

I missed it when it was streamed because I was busy back then, but was it a good performance? Hope you'll find it before LT.

A compilation of interviews with Yuma Kagiyama, Azusa Tanaka, and Shun Sato respectively by Ice Time Podcast. They gave the interviews during the Team Japan training camp and talked about their programs for this season, their impression on Caro the guest coach, etc.

*In the interview with Shun, Ayano says that Shun saw Yuzu's R&J when he visited Miyagi, but he probably meant that he remembered Yuzu skating R&J when they were both living and training in Miyagi.

:thanks:

Waka was sick at the time so it wasn’t the best performance jumps-wise but it still gave me goosebumps. I’m extreeemely biased but it’s going to be the best ladies SP of the season once she’s back in good health. :tumblr_inline_mqt4grU8ua1qz4rgp:

I am really looking forward to seeing Mai at Skate Canada... I hope she can recover her skills  (now that she is on the ice and regaining her weight) well enough that she can be happy with herself and what she has had to overcome in order to do what she loves, yet again.

Poor Kao

He did the first two jumps pretty well, but the final combo

http://www.isuresults.com/results/season1920/jgplat2019/SEG001.htm

OK, he can jump up the standings by FS.

Just IMO, but he seems to need improving his spins.  Anyway Sato sensei knows better than I do, of course.

He might have a kind of pressure due to the results of Yuma and Shun.

You know, they are called 関東三羽烏 (Kanto Samba-garasu - three crows of Kanto (area)) jokingly.

三羽烏 (three crows) is the expression Japanese like to use when we find 3 phenomenal persons in a certain field including sports.

As well-known male skaters are mainly from west part of Japan (excepting T. Honda and Yuzuru, maybe :smiley-cool14: ),  these talented boys are received as a surprise.

Although Shun was from Sendai (Tohoku area), he also have attended the East Japan Meet, and now he has moved to Saitama in Kanto actually.

I heard they don't like to be called 三羽烏, but I'm not sure it is because they don't like to be called a crow, or just don't like to be compared

Anyway, "BOYS, BE AMBITIOUS!" (by Dr. William Smith Clark)

And, GIRLS, BE AMBITIOUS too!! (by me)

Rino Matsuike is in the 4th, not so different from the 3rd in scores.  Go for the podium by today's FS :cheer:
