Wakaba's combo was clearly <. No surprise that they called it.

She rarely rotates it anyway.

This situation is really sickening. :disappointed: It’s so tiring and draining especially today..
What would really need to happen so that something actually changes? :help:

I had to replay about 20 times and pause at exactly the right moment to see it, so I don't really think it's that clear, especially in the actual video, which still mostly looks like it's around the 90 mark. Maybe it's clearer in the tech panel's camera angle, but I would have given this the benefit of the doubt and gone with Q. In any case, even if I call it under I still have her at around ~77 and in the lead, and I don't think I'm as impressed with Wakaba's PCS as everyone else is (though I am a relatively generous in general).

If they're going to call that harshly, there are a lot of edges that should have gotten e.

i didn't watch lol, sounds like it wasn't a great competition anyway?

You didn't miss anything except a shitshow and outrage over the scoring. :dozey:

But if you can, you should check out some performances like Kaori's and Wakaba's. Kaori's performance was glorious.

Well, not even a case of doping changed anything, so... at this point, figure skating is dead and buried.

Lol, it's total coincidence, three different heart medications. Wtf...

How can there even be a doubt about her being doped? Why is she still participating? :banginghead:

I suspect it’s because one has to have due process in this sort of thing, so the person accused has a right to be heard, have representation etc.  Idk how the respective jurisdictions of IOC,ISU,WADA and RUSFED work, what happens if there’s an overlap etc.  Atm IOC and ISU are behaving as though they have flipped a hot potato into WADA’s lap and are pretending it’s nothing to do with them.  There might be an actual decision by 2026, but I wouldn’t put a lot of money on it.

I wonder if somewhere in Russia someone is making sure that grandpa indeed DOES take the 3 medications she has tested positive for ... is sample B well protected?

Edit:  2 of those medications were listed (according to NYT) on her form when she submitted her sample, so grandpa doesn't need to worry about those.

Do I seem paranoid? Yeah... but they're the ones who actually tampered with secure bottles and then drilled a hole in the wall in order to switch samples back in 2014. If I had said that something like that could happen at the Olympics back in 2013 I would have been deemed paranoid to the extreme... and yet, it happened.

Watched a lot of the event. Sort of interested in watching a hot mess occur... sort of fascinating to see it unfold in front of me.

The proud Russians in the crowd, Medvedeva, Zagitova, cheering madly for their compatriots... happy in their bubble where doping doesn't exist.  These girls are their friends and training mates, it's understandable... but watching it isn't easy.

Just hope the skaters can do their best and feel good about what they did, no matter what the judging and results show. If you can skate your best, under extremely trying circumstances, then that is something to be proud of too.

The Whitehouse reporter for the Washington Post asking questions we would like answers too also!!
