She would have probably been the dominant skater this quad and also probably wouldn't have injured herself so badly trying to catch up and been deprived of her chance at the Olympics. If you just do the minimum and redo the placements without Sambo-70 skaters, you find that she would have been 2019 World Champ and 2019 GPF Champ. And who knows how much better she would have done with the boost in confidence.
February 16, 20224 yr I do know its annoying to us Yuzu fans when US journalists focus on the PCS side of things for women and ignore the men's event, but still it's interesting what a retired judge says here about the women's SP and the scoring

But I think I agree with how you put it muscling the way through, no real grace, refinement or artistry . She is young though, she has time to develop better flow but in the way she was at the top I was expecting something else, thats all. thank you all for your responses 💗

I think it is infuriating how everyone suddenly is ready to talk fairness in the sport and even fields now but its complete silences regarding the atrociously corrupt judging. they are all complicit listen to Yuzu and put the motion sensors 🗣️ the would still manage to be corrupt but something is something . I think all the judges should get audited and defend their scoring and if they cant then they are out. without accountability this will always be a circus

Speaking from live experience from 2 years ago and 3 months ago - she has very good spins (though the super extension isn't my favorite style), speed and ice coverage and for her age she is refined. Her jumping technique is really weak, just like others' in Team Tutberidze, for example the wonky combinations are so noticeable in person. At practices it was interesting to see how she simply can't maintin the axis if she doesn't have her two arms up at her ears. She falls then, especially her triple Axel technique is bad, she can't do it without rippon. Her SP suits her better and she connects to the music better, but the free skate is a jump-to-jump program without anything interesting going on. It just consist of tricks, watching those elements felt like being in a circus waiting for what's the next trick. Her previous free skate 2 years ago was much better. With Bolero they wanted to give her more grown-up/mature image on the ice.

I can’t stand the tango/rippon used on every jump as a stabiliser - and afaik ISU still regard it as a point of difficulty rather than a prop. It looks terrible apart from when it’s a curving arm raised to emphasise a point in the music/ choreo rather than a points scoring box to be ticked. Same goes for quick high kicks, which seem to get rewarded whether appropriate to the music or not, shallow, fast IB that is held just long enough to register before swiftly moving on, ditto spread eagles….I could go on but everyone here knows what I’m talking about. And I’m not confining my remarks to Russian women.

I was commenting why psc scoring was wrong, talked about the number of difficult steps and turns vs crossoers, deep edges, transitions etc. The reply was either 'just say the music is not your style' or 'this is his style (of skating)' Some people don't want to see things i guess Edit: and you became a hater if you speak about such stuff
