Nam should be a judge!! Gut the beast, Nam!

(Seriously... I am heart-broken for Wakaba. She had a good point --- her score is LOWER than that in the team event. How is that even possible. Some people are obviously too worried that she's a serious medal contender. )

I 100% do not believe they let the lutz go because they didn't see it, given how harshly they were calling it everything else. They let it go so they wouldn't have a Russian 1-2-3 when that entire camp is under suspicion for doping.

Agree with you there. But they probably will get a Russian 1-2-3 anyway, given the free. How would the Russians stomach it if their skaters' scores just drop 20 points overnight? Hope this will bite them HARD.

Though, they probably will weasel out by saying: "oh but Valieva came first, so the 4th lady (not Russian) technically is still in the podium mix". Something like that.

I feel like a complete idiot watching the russians skate and then seeing their scores

They've been screwing skaters and fans over for years. I will never buy a single ticket for a comp again unless Yuzu skates.

Well to be fair I was bashing czech commentators here earlier but it seems the main commentator isn't that fond of the Valieva's situation either, my unprofessional translation of his latest tweet:

Quote

Kamila Valieva
- is able to manage her inhumane training load
- isn't able to keep an eye on which pills she's swallowing
- is able to compete at the Olympics
- isn't able to answer questions from the press
😔

Well at least the adults around her are able to stomach all of this... 🤮

When I first saw Waka's score, I thought it's not bad, only a point lower than the team event... until I remembered she did a 2A in the TE... WTF??? :death:

You can see who are JSF's favorite in the way they cheer in the audience

even the little tech calls seem off. not really sure where they're getting the Q from on Yelim's flip. that seems incredibly harsh, it didn't look 90 short to me

and Wakaba's -3T is Q at worst, wtf

I am very happy for Eliška Březinová - I know she aimed to be on Olympics 2018 but misfortune happened. 12th place after SP is great for her .

Yes, Nam. We know. :noshake:

I think he feels more comfortable with speaking up about this since he said this was going to be his last year as a professional skater. I remember him being asked about the scoring in an interview and he refrained from commenting saying that since he was still competing he didn’t want to put his foot in his mouth (paraphrasing).

Yeah. I really love strict panels that make a lot of calls, this is very rare. But here, several of those seem questionable to me...

There's nothing wrong about strict calls... as long as this is applied to every skater equally. But unfortunately, the tech calls are just another instrument of manipulation.

The calling is just weird to be honest. Loena's lutz edge is very questionable (honestly, I think you can even justify e), but the flip edge looks fine, yet it's her flip edge that got !

Even tennis greats tweeting about it!
