February 8, 20224 yr I guess we'll see his approach / mentality to the FS tomorrow. Pretty sure 4A will be there since I don't think he practiced other quads, but let's see if he upgrades to 3A+3Lo, it's doable now that he's got 3F there. Or he might even change 4A to 3Lz or something, but that's not Yuzu.

It's because other skaters are massively overscored, and their mistakes overlooked. I mean, look at Shoma today - mistake in a jump and he somehow scored higher than on Friday. Yes, this. Exactly. When he skates clean it is still scored the same as when some other skaters make blatant mistakes. When he includes a ton of transitions he gets lower points than a skater with none or barely any. Clean, perfect, graceful jumps are given less GOE than jumps that are extremely borderline in the way they are landed. It’s difficult not to start thinking something is fishy, no matter how positive and upbeat about it we might try to be. Like I said, I’ve become increasingly cynical over the last few years and I’m at the point where now I’m convinced that no matter how cleanly Yuzu skates, he will always be underscored.
February 8, 20224 yr Some more comments from Yuzu Super rough translation: "On FS: Well, I will try not to get caught by the ice. I am a bit seriously thinking that I may have to do ten good things a day rather than do a good thing a day. (Laughs) I have trained enough for this and am confident about my performance coming into this competition. According to Nikkan, Yuzu tried to avoid getting caught by his own trace by moving his taking-off point 2cm closer to the fence
February 8, 20224 yr Call me naive, but I believe that he will land 4A. If not here, then then next competition (Worlds?) He will do it, because he said so (as long as he is healthy). I have unwavering faith in him. I hope the pressure cooker is off, and he can just focus on what he wants to do. If he makes progress on that 4A in two days, that's already a HUGE achievement.

Not gonna stop them now... 6 minutes ago, makebelieveup said: I guess everyone has their time. Yuzu had his time and one day Yuma and other skaters will have to face the pressure Yuzu has Yuzu made his moments solely on his own merits. He never had his home fed's support the way the other two do. Also the great pressure on him comes from his great accomplishments, frankly none comes close to those so they won't be feeling that pressure anyway, not when their fed's got their backs.

He tried his best, Ice chan was just not cooperating. Free from pressure, wanting to skate and do his best... I wonder what kind of performance he will gift us on the FS
February 8, 20224 yr So, he probably won't be able to podium unless Nathan, Shouma or Yuma make several mistakes (which I hope they won't since I don't want to wish ill for anyone). Either way, I hope he will have a better FP and maybe a 4A<, he's def going to go all out on nessie now (please stay safe)

February 8, 20224 yr I'm still kinda numb but my head is clearer. I hope he shakes it off and freely goes for what he wants now. This sport is often cruel and many times there is no miracle or happy ending. All I wish is after every thing, he will find fulfillment and happiness.
