Ok, gotta catch some sleep now...8 am here and my alarm is set to 10 am...I hope Yuzuru will rest well and doesn't feel too disappointed, thanks everyone for company, would have been even more devastating to have to watch this unfold all by myself

I agree that even not counting the mistake with 4S, the JNat version was better - this one seemed a bit less sharp and lower energy.  So I think his PCS is not that outrageously low.

That is exactly where the system collapses.  If we judge him based on his prev perf, i can accept the scores. But than there is what i see on the ice on the same competition by other scatera and i cannot justify it

Yuzu actually deserves another +10 points just for bringing audience to watch this dying sport lol

"He says he’s going to give everything he has to catch up in the free program"

Well, good to see he hasn't still given up. But I don't think he will even get the bronze unless Universe pull a miracle.

Guys, can we stop with "what will the media say" and "What will the haters do" please

Why do you care so much about what others say. Do you like Yuzu because the media praised him or because other people say he is great? or is it because you follow him and his skating and love what he does?

We are his fans, not the media or the haters. Our opinions matter more than anyone else. Leave that negativity away and lets keep on sending him positive energy and reminding him that his fans has his back regardless. We are not just here when he wins. We are with him always

Well said.

The media has never been kind to him, so he's, sadly, used to that.

He has nothing to prove to anyone except himself: that he can deliver performances he feels proud of.

Please don't get caught in the hate. Remember that a lot of SM use rage and discord to keep the engagement. Don't fall into this game, your mental health is more important than that. Let's just enjoy his next performance and cheer for him to keep the kuyashii at bay

Idk about y'all but i am too sensitive rn myb coz this is my first olympics with him. After seeing his name at 8th place, i can't stop crying, even while typing this i am still covered in tears. Not because of the mistake. But because i dunno if i can handle all the hate and backlashes he will get from medias and haters after this. Please god, just let him land ratified 4A asap, so that i can see him reti**ng from this shitty corrupted sport. My heart can't handle all the mistreatments and disrespects towards him.😭😭😭

Ugh and now i'm gonna cry 😭😭

Eh, I remember not expecting even a podium finish after Helsinki SP, but we all know what happened. Sure, times and narratives have changed and he's 8th instead of 5th here, but these things are very unpredictable.

Spoiler

In any case, his success/failure is ultimately his own, so what's important is how he feels about everything. Media backlash, what people will say... no matter how upsetting it is for a fan, it's his life, not mine. I just hope that at the end of the day, he can be content.

Do you like it when something that you love is mocked or ridiculed? When they rejoice at his mistakes because it will generate catchy headlines?

This is Yuzu :yuzupout:

Yuzu channels kuyashii into positivity for his skates. Be like Yuzu

(Sorry love this meme format)

Honestly not likely but one can hope that Yuzu can bring out an earth shattering FS

I don't think anyone likes that, especially because we're talking about an actual human being(debatable) here. But there is nothing we can do about that, trying to make people see what's happening will only paint us as salty fans who can't accept that their favorite isn't winning :P

There is no way to win against that, because as wonderful as he is, not everyone will love him and there will always be negative voices trying to bring him down.

He has plenty of love from all over the world, and people within the sport who know that he is the greatest and that what medals he loses after all that has happened these past years don't erase his accomplishments and how he has changed the sport.

The media has taken a like to report things with a negative perspective, again, to generate engagement. Most of that don't change the facts and in this case, that his name will be in the history books of figure skating forever.

Ok looking forward to see what’s in store for us in his practice tomorrow!

10 points between him and third place..thats quite a lot to close the gap.Thats why i hate pop in sp ..so costly. He will try to do his best in the free and can he just left after that .Dont need to wait for the gala.Olympic didnt deserve him.But it is so weird to see him off the podim. The media will have the field days asking him to retire now that his time has come

ISU & JSF have actually been expressing that in their actions ever since after 2018 Olympics. I.e. wanting Yuzu to retire.

Remember one time Yuzu said to Brian at the K& C 'They don't need me anymore' and the microphone caught those few words. I think it was WC at Saitama. They didn't know the TV station put a mic so close to the skaters at the K & C.

I follow 4 other Olympic sports & never have I seen such disrespect towards a 2X Olympic Gold medalist. In other sports, the words of a 2x OG champ carries a lot of weight & their achievements not just brushed off to the side.
