February 10, 20224 yr I don't have strength to go to FP topic, so I will ask here. This 4a< fall was ratified simply as a first not downgraded attempt or as was 4lo?

I've seen they used the word "certified". Somebody explained that as the jump has the BV of a 4a instead of a 3a when downgraded.
February 10, 20224 yr I mean, yeah, realistically speaking this will very likely happen, just needs to see it actually unfolds. To USFSA, I hope the purchase was worth it :v :v :v. Fakest [redacted] gold medal ever (even faker than Evan Lysacek's [redacted] tan!). May it gets forgotten instantly (Just shows that USFSA is highly deserving of a humongous portion of Sherman's BBQ... 🙄😒)
February 10, 20224 yr I hope WADA is successful with the appeal to CAS. Understandable if they target the athlete in question, but if anything the coaching team should be the one who gets the most brunt of the punishment. Sure the ROC will try to find a way to snake out of facing responsibility, but this time they really should get the heat, especially for endangering a minor's life like that.

The judges counted it as 4A< with a BV of 10. 3A BV is 8 in 1st half and 8.8 in 2nd half. You can check the protocols.

February 10, 20224 yr If it were not Yuzu who jumped it, this attempt might have been called q or fully rotated. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
February 10, 20224 yr He fought so hard, under so much pain and pressure. I am so, so proud of him. Although it was a fall this time, he has shown us proof that he can rotate the 4A. It is no longer Nessie. It is real, a terrifyingly beautiful monster that Yuzuru Hanyu can tame. I hope he will get a lot of rest, a good talk with his mom, good treatment for his ankle and some day soon, warm hugs from people whom he cares about and cares about him. If he decides to continue to tame the 4A, I am here for it. If he decides it is time to stop, I wish him all the best in his future endeavor. Whichever path he may choose, I hope we will see a lot more of him, happy and free. He deserves it.
February 10, 20224 yr This probably belong to the General Skating Chat but since it's an interview at Olympics... Louder please, Deniss https://fs-gossips.com/deniss-vasiljevs-its-not-enough-for-me-just-to-show-elements-i-need-this-emotional-content-expression-integrity-beauty-a-sense-of-music-to-show-what-i-feel/ Quote Doesn’t it feel like you’re losing because of a system that encourages difficult jumps but not artistry? You are more like a skater, and your coach too. And everything goes into figure jumping. Deniss Vasiljevs: It’s more fun to call it aerobics on ice. Yes, jumps requires a lot of concentration, it eats up the emotional content that attracts me to this sport. That is, expression, integrity, beauty, a sense of music. It’s not enough for me to go and show how the movements are worked out. I need this emotional content, to show what I feel, and not just to perform the elements. And it is especially important that there are people around. Because I skate not only for judges, but also for spectators. It’s a pleasure for me. Now we have more and more emphasis on jumps, and the education of judges is dying: what are correctly executed turns, figures from the skating point of view? The system changes, there will always be up and down waves between the technique and the second mark. I wish that the art of controlling your body did not die. Because controlling the skate softly and smoothly when you make turns is a completely different story than being explosive and fast when jumping. This is a different kind of skill.

I have no interest in watching a jump drill. That's not figure skating.

I've been watching figure skating since I was a kid. I love it exactly because it's a fusion of technical elements like jumps and spins and art, music, performance etc. In the last couple of years, the emphasis has been going more and more in the direction of just jumps and very little in between. If someone lands a couple of quads and has the right passport, they get candies left and right, no matter if the jumps are low quality and have improper technique. The programs are repetitive and boring. The music is just background noise. I can imagine that many skating fans think the same. The ISU might think that they can get more people to watch figure skating if the hype up a very mediocre ice jumper like Nate, but they don't understand that people don't care about artificially created, fake hype with nothing to back it. These Olympics have shown me figure skating is dead. I look forward to the ISU and US fed crying over empty rinks and low TV ratings after Yuzu leaves this shithole.

February 10, 20224 yr So what, they are gonna pretend nothing was disclosed? (by Russian media, no one else) Lol I don't even. Well I'm going to enjoy the rest of the Olympics since I'm not that invested, even if it seems so fake right now. But at least I will watch it to enjoy skating, blissful no commentary and not caring that much about scores. (though I do want my faves still do well )
