  1. The Malaysia media has also stated that media harassment is the reason for the divorce: https://www.thestar.com.my/aseanplus/aseanplus-news/2023/11/18/japan-skating-star-blames-divorce-on-media-harassment-only-three-months-after-getting-hitched This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  2. Less so if they are outside of Japan as less people know him. Much like Kim Yuna & one of the reasons why she trained in Canada -she could live like a normal person & not be harassed with people constantly wanting to take photo of her
  3. I was so shocked when I read about this on Twitter/X. So I came to find out if its fake news, oh boy, it is indeed true. No sure if Japan law have restraining orders. I hope Yuzu & family get restraining orders to guard against those stalkers & parapazzi.
  4. LoL, Max Ambesi is even taking bets?
  5. Yuzu is supposed to inform JSF(his national federation/country's federation). Then JSF will in turn inform ISU(the International Federation). It's the standard procedure for athletes in sports, the other sports it's same procedure. Just slight difference is athlete inform national federation, national federation inform national Olympic committee (JOC in Japan's case). Everything goes through the national federation.
  6. I fully agree with the 'drop and dxx' part. Now I don't have to put up with ISU shenanigans anymore, hehe. Having said that, I was not exactly surprised or sad since it's been at the back of my mind since 2018. R happens to all athletes sooner or later. Wishing all the best to Yuzu's future and more happiness to come for him as a free agent
  7. The protocols were already out on the day of the Men's FS. Yuzu got 10 Base value points for the 4A. It was judged as UR. Because of the fall it was -5 pts. 3A is 8 pts in 1st half and 8.8 pts on 2nd half. It's definitely a 4A It's certified, not ratified cos Yuzu fell on the jump. This already established days ago before the Olympics ended.
  8. On JSF and that article, it's not surprising. They did the same or similar vibes with Shoma after OG 2018. It's only when Shoma was coach less and hit rock bottom they temporary stopped the hype. This time it's Yuma.
  9. In terms of Yuma & Shoma seemingly lack of sympathy, I take it as they are just not as expressive as Yuzu. Yuma being still shy & in awe of Yuzu(Juniors dare not approach Yuzu unless being approached 1st) & Shoma being blur. Shoma in post Olympic interviews (this year 2022) have defended/spoken up abt Yuzu. Whenever answering questions, where possible, Shoma will keep bringing up -> Yuzu-kun carried the Japanese men category for so many years. That he, Shoma, could not have borne the spotlight & pressure, etc. This was Shoma's statement during post FS interview with 3 medalists. All these many years Shoma has always tried to emulate Yuzu. Everything Yuzu-kun this, Yuzu-kun that. To the extend I felt he was trying to become 2nd Yuzu & lose his own style & identity. As Shoma has gotten more matured, he has gotten more independent, more so after having to go aborad & train under Lambiel. Note : I followed Shoma's career ever since he turned senior in 2015. He's Yuzu's side kick, so to speak, can't miss him out at competitions.
  10. Yes. The day after Men's FS, Jason Brown(and Nathan) had an individual press conference with the journalists. With interpreters and all. Vincent of course is still in quarantine, can't attend. I believe it's supposed to be interview with Team USA Men. Shoma & Yuma already had their individual press conference. It's not the one with all 3 medalist, just the 2 of the from Team Japan Men. So I suppose it's Yuzu's turn after this.
  11. Nathan said that when he first got accepted into Yale. He was doing pre med if not mistaken, his foundation studies. Not sure abt when he go up 1st year University. But Yale expects their students to study full time, not like other universities where can study online. Earlier Nathan did say max he could get was 1 year off his studies, which was supposed to be the year before Beijing OG. Then COVID happened, there was school break cos of that. So total Nathan got around 2 years off his studies to focus on Olympics. I remember reading interviews where Rafael said he preferred Nathan to train at his training center, not online through video call like what they were doing. Now that, Olympics is over, Nathan will have to go to his studies.
  12. On this point , I think it'd mainly cos Shoma & Yuma speak very little English. Shoma somewhat improved his English ever since he went to train under Lambiel but still very long way to go compared to Yuzu's English. Back in his teens, Yuzu didn't even understand media questions in Eng. One hilarious incident was he nodded like he understood the question, then go straight to his senior Takahashi to ask what in the world did the person say. Brian Orser also mentioned that language barrier was a problem. He asked to do a 3A, Yuzu went & jump a quad or something, lol. Yuzu only speak English in public more I think 2018 onwards, after 6 years in Canada.
  13. Don't think there'll be jetlag since flight from Japan to Beijing only takes between 3 hrs to 4.5 hrs.
  14. On the within China info, I have read & heard of China actors traveling into and out of Beijing without quarantine. Its recent, happened last week. Fly back to Beijing for 2 days, then fly out to filming location in another city. I dont know abt the general public , but the actors & actresses are flying here & there within China which gives the impression no quarantine is needed.
  15. Its discussed in the Team USA thread : https://planethanyu.com/topic/59-team-usa/page/116/ I agree with the forumers there that Nathan's apology sounds scripted, writted by his agency. He's just saying the politically correct thing that he's supposed to say in public. I'm also of the opinion that what Nathan said in the interview was what he really thinks abt FS & perception of FS in the US. And that he shouldnt try to make all manly & acrobatic only, cos that will remove the essense of what FS is -> art + athleticism. Which is something that Yuzuru has said & embraces. The art part is what makes FS a unique sport.
  16. The basis is : The most important/popular one appears last for ice shows. Same goes for theatre production, the main roles always last. Why? To hold audience attention till the end. Plushenko is legendary yes but Yuzu is 2X Olympic Champion(Individual), Plushenko has 1 individual Gold. + its held in Japan, the host main skater is always last to appear. For Exhibition gala, yes, the winners always appear last. Pretty standard order. Except for WC Yuzu was put to appear later than Yuma the silver medalist due to his popularity. Even if there's no audience in the stadium, the organisers might have thought the tv audience/livestream will switch off after Yuzu skated.
  17. Of course, Yuzu's shirtless look was much more sexier. The last time he did that was 2012 at an ice show.
  18. On GS, Yuzuru's Fan Fest has just been updated yesterday. There's all the latest interviews up to SOI ice show schedule. Yuzu fans still go there as some of us are also fans of other skaters. Just keep out of the drama, which I find not hard to do after the Covid pandemic started.
  19. 1) Try not to read those posts or threads. Dont follow every single thread/post in social media. 2) Follow other sports. Those which are less drama for you or your country's athletes. Non judged sports have less drama usually cos its all in the speed or numbers. Tokyo Olympics is this year so I follow those sports more. With 3 to 4 sports to follow, who qualifies for Tokyo Olympics, what are the ranking points needed, etc, there would not much time to dwell on the stuff that goes on in Figure Skating. 3) With the pandemic still going on, there are far more important things to be concerned about in real life. What athletes do or not coach does not effect us one cm/inch in real life.
  20. We dont know the final outcome about Worlds cos they did not have quarantine. And If WC didnt become a superspreader, thats cos a) they got lucky its not more than the 2 or 3 who tested positive b) some may be asymptomatic but we wouldnt know cos they are not required by their home countries to do the test unless they have symptoms. Some countries operate that way. Because there were other International sporting events where athletes tested positive AFTER 7 days arriving at the competition venue. After testing negative upon arrival. They had bubble & all that. Fortunately, there was 7 days mandatory quarantine on all athletes participating. In the context of WC, Sunday should have been the 7th day of quarantine, not the last day of competition. These kind of things cannot be left to chance. There is a reason why countries impose 14 day mandatory quarantine upon arrival.
  21. Jason has said he would fly back to his hometown in USA after WC. He wanted to see his parents whom he hasnt seen almost a year. Usually Jason's parents will travel & watch him at competitions but with Covid going on they cant. So if Jason goes for WTT he will fly from US, Chicago I think is his hometown.
  22. Well, it will more interesting if both Yuzu & Shoma decided to withdraw. Hehe
  23. Yuzu & Shoma?? That's odd. I thought it would be Yuzu & Yuma or Shoma & Yuma. To give Yuma some experience competing in Team events before 2022 Olympics.
  24. Shoma will teach Yuzu how to level up at gaming. By 10 levels. Lol. Yuzu will teach Shoma how to jump a proper 4S. If he can get Shoma off the bed. On a serious note, I'm sure they'll be in separate rooms as required by quarantine protocols.
  25. LOL. Zhulin forgot Yuzu won 2018 OG with Seimei, another Japanese themed song. I remember an interview where Orser said he discreetly asked the judges(during 2017/2018 Olympic season) -> they liked Seimei. Its not like ISU judges going give him higher points for rock type song. Look at what happened with Lets Go Crazy & Let Me Entertain You.
