On bright note, I’m happy that it seems he doesn’t care about the fake competitions (including Olympics) anymore and is fully focused on his own goal which is completely in his own hands. But I wasn’t ready for this at all. I thought he will go with a watered-down layout but damn, he doesn’t care about anything other than 4A. How to survive Sunday?

I'm mightly confused. First of all we really don't know exactly what he means with that 70% of his, is it by normal people standard? his standard for other jumps? what exactly? Give us a reference plz

Then he says that if olys are in the path of 4a he should seriously try, but then he plans to try a "not landed yet" nessie which...  grabbing oly ticket would be probaly easier with a  conservative approach instead So...wut?

I want be in his mind so bad

 

But let's take one step at a time. Safe practices, safe comp last time I was plunged into this kind of chaos was pre-nhk, so gotta remember to pray real real hard

I decided to introduce a new step-by-step praying system this week:

 

1. Permanent prayer for his health and well-being. With Christmas candles and every spiritual object we can find in this household.

2. Pray individually for minor and major successes every day and every session. One after another.

 

 

Update: Mom wants to make special Christmas tree ornaments in the colors of Yuzu's costumes 

Not yet landed in practice but will attempt 4A in FP.... He is just going to YOLO? 

Young man, I have lotsa work to rush to complete before year end. I CANNOT die of heart attack this weekend.

Just how many defibrillators do the admin team have to supply now? 

I guess I will need to keep my inhaler right next to me during his FS if he actually attempts to jump it in competition.

 

Anecdote: I think I get why he would like to attempt it in competition/with a proper audience. When I did gymnastics back in the day I really struggled with the layout on the balance beam during practice but I wanted to try it out during a warm up just before competition with an audience around me. It kind of pumped me up and I didn't really want to feel 'embarrassed' in front of 100 people by falling on my face or slipping on the beam and crushing my hooha against it. And it worked! I was 13 and doing my proper first layout without any help from the coach. I was thrilled. My mum who was watching in the crowd not so much - I think I made her grow a few more grey hair at the ripe age of 34.

Today was my last working day this year, returned home all excited for holidays, logged in to PH and was about to comment on how nice is it to see so many new pages with new content after a long time.... and started reading this thread from the back, didn't expect any drama today and   

This week is going to be STRESSFUL

Yuzuru I'm really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really against attemting in competition something that you can't do in practice!

He just was injured, isn't back to even early in season condition and will first pancake here. It sure will end well.

 

My entire office is now both curious to see how this goes and nervous for his ankles after I showed them clips of prior 4A attempts. (They also expect me to come back from the holiday break either bald or completely grey-haired.)

 

Never underestimate Mr. Hanyu, indeed.

Sounds like he's gonna do it anyway despite not having landed it in practice. Well, I don't think that will end well, but if it gives him the practice/experience he needs to continue trying to land this jump, I say go for it...

 

Olympics is pretty whatever anyway. I don't have too much of an emotional connection to this one anymore.

I just hope stays in one piece if he is going for it in the free skate, hoping for the best, this is what I can do. Please stay healthy Yuzu. 

 

In the meantime I totally forgot we'll get to see a new short program soon. At least we'll get some crumbs from tomorrow's practice (which I'll ofc sleep through)?

Gotta focus my energy on Yuzuru just staying in good condition and reasonable health throughout whatever he wants to try. If he wanna yolo, he's all the rights to do that. But please please please no more heartbreaks, not for him nor for us.🙏🙏🙏 Yuzuru's ankles&other various body parts be safe please🙏🙏🙏

 

Eta: do we know if tomorrow's skating order is the same as the sp draw?

To catch up with all the posts about his interview is not really soothing .

I don't like to think about a 4A fall at the beginning of Ten to Chi to! Maybe he is now used to get up immediately after that and continue the program? Oh dear! Hitting a bus and then go straight to the battlefield...

And how hard it must be to answer again and again "I haven't landed it."

 

Well, I have seen a translation that says Yuzu said he hasn't landed the 4A "properly"....

Also, in interview he said he is the best he has ever been as a skater and he isn't ready to "give the ticket to another person" so to me it sounds like he does want to go to the Olys - he even mentioned going for a medal.
