Latest news I heard about state of his 4Lo was from media day, that it was in better condition then it had been prior to the Olympic season/ before the injury. I attended official practices and counted them. He attempted 10 4Lo during official practices and succeeded (no fall or pop) on 5 of them. (This doesn't include the competition warm up 4Lo attempts though, but I don't think the success rate changes very much if you include them.) I'm sure a couple of the pops could have turned into saved jumps in a competition context, though. The 4Lo is definitely competition-ready but was obviously not as secure as his other quads (all of which were successfully landed in practice--though he did pop a salcow or two in warmups), and with his renewed focus on winning increasing his % success on the 4Lo seems more pressing than adding 4A. You know, for all the pops (and that one fall) on the 4Lo, when it came to his runthroughs and the FS itself, he actually didn't pop or fail it, which is good news. I was more surprised at his 4S3T fail because it seemed such a solid combo during practices. Ah yeah, to be on topic, I voted WTT. Link to comment

Yeah all except maybe one of his practice 4S3Ts were just gorgeous, +5 GOE jumps. I guess he was too tired or nervous or lost concentration or something. WTT seems like the logical time, but he probably wouldn't be very happy if he had to wait that long. Plus, it would only give him one chance to have it ratified this season, which means there's a considerable chance that he would have to wait until next season to get credit for it. So I'm guessing he'll want it earlier. Link to comment
EisElle
I wasn't surprised about the 4S...always been moody dependable when you least expect it but a bit sneaky from time to time (but it's so, so gorgeous!) I was more disappointed about the popped toe, tho he had had some pop in practice too, right? mainly because I wanted to see him go for the SEQ A pity tho, that he had such +5 goe jumps in runthoughs and in the actual programs some of them, while landed, were of lower quality... to stay on topic, I'm still in the next season camp, but wishing very fervently that Yuzu will land Nessie this season, because he wants to and for the lulz Link to comment
rockstaryuzu
I have to admit that despite my being wrong about ACI, I'm still betting on Nessie coming out sooner rather than later. Having just watched PJ Kwong's interview with Shae-Lynn where they both mention having seen him do it, I'm even more confident that he's going to bring it the second his physical condition allows. Therefore I'm now moving my vote to CoR. Helsinki may still be too soon Link to comment
Figure_Frenzy
I also voted Helsinki because I want him to land it there (so yeah, pure emotional wish), instead of some guess with a logical reasoning behind it . I understand the reasoning for those who thinks he will land it in the latter half of the season, but I don't think he will move it into the next season barring any major physical challenges *touch wood* *God forbid that happens X( X( X(* . Anyway, he is a man of his words, so if he said he'll do it this season, then I trust him that he will definitely do it this season. What makes me still confident with my pick that he (might) land it in the earlier half of the season is the eyewitnesses' accounts of him landing the 4A. The success rate might be just about 50% for now but he might improve the success rate along with the consolidation of his programs. (As a final note, think also about how we haven't seen the beginning of the open practice at the media day this year — what if it turned out that he landed 4A there? (I thought of it as I browsed twitter and stumbled upon such tweet...)) Link to comment

Ashley2162018
I am confused with the footages of people saying he landed it. From what i remember in Shae's last interview with PJ, it was said that he is close. But I assumed they said so in reference to his 3A improvement. For Plushenko, he said it in the olympic channel interview that Yuzu can jump it. He could see iYuzu doing it. But it was not meaning he already saw it. As for BOrser, he also said Yuzu can do it. But his foot must recover first. Even though it is not yet clear if Yuzu has really exposed Nessie to people close to him, I hope he takes his time in perfecting it. Link to comment
LadySnowblood
I keep peeping into this thread and it's so nerve wracking... Couldn't vote at all! I hope he will land it this season but no one else is even close, so I still think it will be later rather than earlier... I was for next season but landing it in Origin would be the ultimate honor to Plushenko. Pretending that is the plan, then maybe WTT? Re: PJ's interview with Shae-Lynn, I love it but don't think it's more useful for 4A prediction than anything else we've seen so far. When SL pauses after mentioning quad axel, PJ fills in saying, "Which I saw him practice by the way, pretty remarkable." This can be misheard as "Which I saw in practice..." for a different meaning. Then PJ says, "Not quite there, but it's close." Link to comment

I.e., he is landing it, his success rate just isn't very high. So. Yeah. Wheeee. Link to comment

It's not said in the interview. Shae-Lynn brings it up by saying that she's seen it, but not where or when. She describes it a bit. Then PJ replies saying "I've seen it too," before moving on to the next question. Also, Brian, in that interview at the Olympics, says, when asked about it, that Yuzu has done it and that he's seen it ( although he's referring to Zu doing it in harness). He then goes on to say it's something that needs to be carefully trained so as to avoid injury. Link to comment
enno0287
I just landed on this thread, and suddenly I just feel so nervous with all this nessie talks. Gosh...I'm terrified yet so exited at the same time. It was apparent that Yuzu was nervous during ACI and the issues with stamina was pronounced. Hope he works on the stamina issue first though. But man...how I wish nessie would just come sooner! Link to comment
