patrick's sp music makes me so sad. i feel like since his sp is about his feelings regarding skating now, which imo is not really a good feeling, its not doing him any favor in getting into that mental state to perform perfectly and cleanly. lovely skating skills tho. sigh. i miss blackbirds.

Omg just woke up. What happened???? Ugh this horrible time difference from Europe.

Thanks for the videos!

At this point, I don't think China will land in top 5 to quality for the free portion. Our ice dance and ladies isn't something to write home about.

About the media:

- Uh, I think NBC might have hurt Chen with their insistence on the scheduling. Also, why do they have to broadcast at 8 pm? Would 9 pm est/6 pm PST hurt that much? Or even 10 pm est/7 pm PST be so un-doable? An extra hour of sleep help immensly for athletes. And you would think that with all that extra media PR machine running, they could oh-I-dunno, gently persuade people to stay up just half an hour longer past their bedtime to watch Nathan.  And it's not even bed time for the west coast either.

- How quickly does the media turn....they should chill a bit, it's just the first take, don't add more pressure to him before he actually exits the individual event ice.

I guess it's early in the morning local time but I'm from California (same as Nathan) and I was wide awake at 10 already. But then again I have jet lag and Nathan has been here longer than I have, but I don't get why they can't just adjust their sleep schedules for the competition. Do they have many obligations the days leading up to the event? Practices are all over the place but none of them obligatorily run into late evenings/nights, right?

I know, I just found it amusing how it is the exact same score down to the decimal point

The oly judge probably be like: uhhmmm so what was the highest PC score the old judges gave in Sochi? Okay that’s the benchmark then.

No it's not really that, I think it's just that early morning performances means very early morning practices ( 6 or 7 am), and to be properly warmed up for those, you have to get up at 4/5 am to stretch. It's just unconventionally early.

Yeah, okay, that sucks! They better go to sleep at like 8 then...

May be they changed the settings :(

Tell me what you see? I'm still not confident about spotting edges unless they're crystal clear.

But if that's a clear inside edge, and Mai's at 4CC wasn't, I'm just a pile of salt.

Also, it looked completely and totally fully rotated even if the landing was wonky.

I see outside edge on the flip.

I thought I was imagining it earlier so I went back and took screenshots.
