[2018] OG TE Men - SP & FS

The funny thing is Nathan’s 4Lz is allegedly missing in action. Sometimes I feel like they should just call what the skaters do, not what they plan. But they don’t want to deal with the mountain of Zayak violations. But talk about a rule that would encourage proper technique.

I kind of wonder why, too. The planned layouts are giving judges a cheat sheet.

I open the protocol first and ogm what a mess. I kind of expected Chan and Kolyada would make mistake but not bomb that hard. And Nathan  This is the first time he pop jump in SP I think ?  Seriously US media should leave him alone, why didn't they learn anything from last year's WC ? I think Shoma looked nervous too but he handle it very well. PCS is high but when Nathan/Kolyada got 42/43, it make sense.  Don't expect the UR call on Shoma's 4F, Jun's combo and Nathan's 3A (this one is even close to <<)

The highlight are Jun Hwan and Bychenko. I also like Matteo too. Seem like skaters who haven't thought about team medal did way better.

I thought I was imagining it earlier so I went back and took screenshots.

:/

It was obvious live, without the slow-motion replay, even for a dingus like myself.

I thought so too but there was no mention of it anywhere at all so I assumed I was being a megadingus and wrong.

Tbh I kind of don't mind they didn't call it. Poor kid had such a nightmare skate. And then the NYT go and do him like that.

Pyeongchang cam had the best slo-mo and 360 shots... they should gift this to ISU tech panel. If they had this type of cam tech and still don't call then it's obvious they're turning a blind eye. Right now they can give the excuse that they only have 1 cam that is different from the one that the public sees on broadcasts.

This one is even worse:

At least Paul Wylie is being straight about the schedule. Ugh, getting up at 5, stretching at 6-7 am, pretty much not the best time to actually stretch your limbs out. And NBC wonders why people aren't happy about the men. Here have a cookie for a correct answer.

The slow mo's were amazing. I loved how they did that for the giant jumps-you get a really good sense of the spread and height of everything, and very clear shot of whether skaters URed or double footed.

I dunno. Sure he did have a nightmare skate. But so did Han Yan and they called his 3A UR, as it was. And his camp had no complaints when he was being built up like he was the second coming of Arthur of legend, so while I feel bad for Nathan personally, I don't think that sentiment should extend to his scores or the calls made.
