What is the long-term outlook?

For minor injuries, the ligament may heal without any issue. However, it’s important to note that if the ligament got severely stretched, it may never regain its prior stability. This means that it’s more likely that the knee will be somewhat unstable and you could easily injure it again. The joint could become swollen and sore simply from physical activity or minor injury.

For those with a major injury who don’t have surgery, the joint will most likely remain unstable and easily injured. You may not be able to do physical activities that require repetitive use of the knee, including running, climbing, or biking. Pain could result from minor activities like walking or standing for extended periods. You may have to wear a brace to protect the joint during physical activity.

For those who have surgery, the outlook will depend on the severity of the original injury and the surgical procedure. Generally, you’ll have improved mobility and stability after the joint completely heals. You may have to wear a brace or limit physical activities in the future to help prevent reinjuring the knee.

In knee injuries involving more than just the LCL, treatment and outlook may be different, as those injuries could be more severe.

From a health website I googled..

Sorry thought I @ you before. Did I mess up? :13877886:

i will head over soon but if you’re going to gala still I can see you there. No need to wait around for my sake!

Yuzu breaking his world SP record at his first competition and bringing back his world breaking programs is actually the best choice he could have done, wow, like some stars are still out there rooting for him.

Because now he doesn't have a chance to break a world records again until Olympics and to perform his programs until Nats. WTH.

sorry, both foot and knee???

If it's the LCL only, it's actually... not such bad news, compared to what it could've been? If it's not torn (everything crossed that it's not torn because if it is it generally means that's not the only injury) then he's got a decent chance of getting better relatively quickly as long as he rests, ices, does physio properly and follows all advice.

I usually don't freak out when I hear news of other sportspeople I follow getting LCL damage, especially if it's not a tear. They usually get back to playing in a few weeks.

If it's his knee, then likely main injury probably occurred when he knocked his knee against the ice when falling. We likely won't get news about its severity but it might not be a light injury?

I read its only for the knee

“It must have been really tough and frustrating, but I think it was wise decision. You will get better soon!!! I’m praying that you’ll be healed soon!!!”

What causes an LCL injury?

The main cause of LCL injuries is direct-force trauma to the inside of the knee. This puts pressure on the outside of the knee and causes the LCL to stretch or tear.

SYMPTOMS

What are the symptoms of an LCL injury?

Symptoms of an LCL injury can be mild or severe, depending on the severity of the sprain or if it’s torn. If the ligament is mildly sprained, you may not have any symptoms at all. For a partial tear or complete tear of the ligament, your symptoms may include:

swelling of the knee (especially the outer aspect)

stiffness of the knee joint that can cause locking of the knee

pain or soreness on the outside of the knee

instability of the knee joint (feeling like it’s going to give out)

more info..

Just came back to injury news :sadPooh: i hope its not too bad and it heals in time for nationals

Why does this have to happen in the olympic season when we was so excited and planned and reaDY :tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid:
