Banner change! So we start from 0 again...but thats what he's good at. Coming back full throttle. This is going to be hella tough on him...and he's going to need a lot of mental and physical rest. Mental a tad bit more difficult to get knowing him but YOU CAN DO THIS THE ICE IS YOURS. :snonegai:

Sorry to say this but this news came to shock me. I wasn't here during B*****, so I guess this is how surviving through his injury news feels like. Don't want to seem like a bad FS fan but I probably won't be active during the rest of the GP Series. I'll post Yuzu related stuff... Gosh now when I see GP/GPF, I feel his pain.... :tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid::tumblr_m7etfqA8wS1qb1380:

No one is going to judge here. We are all here because we love him.

Personally, it's hard for me to watch the other events because of the time zones, and believe it or not, i have a full time job. I only wake up to see him, otherwise i just investigate the results and watch the skates that interest me.

We will all get through this.

I needed that :tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid:

I've said what I wanted about this on twitter. tldr I'm proud of him for making this decision even though I'm heartbroken for him too. The person who wanted this the least on the planet is Yuzuru.

If his LCL injury is minor it can heal in 2 weeks or less. More serious (partial tear) within 2-6 weeks (in time for nationals). A full tear may require surgery and 4-8 weeks recovery. However bad it is, withdrawing to avoid making the injury worse is the best thing they could do long term. I hope Brian maybe convinced both Yuzu and Javi to see a sports psychologist after this cursed GP series.

This is very sad but there are still opportunities this season for smiles and successes. For him to show his best he needs to be healthy.

If I had tickets for gpf, I would be devastated now, not more than those of you who are in Osaka are. I can't imagine how happy/sure/relaxed we were 24 hours ago. It all seems so destroyed somehow. And Yuzu knowing the expectations on him from us and his sponsors and jsf would be feeling 200 times more worse.

Still lingering at the venue... I've seen a few sad people, but not many looking that devastated. Either they don't know the whole story or they don"t think it's so bad... And of course, FP tickets popped up.

I don't know, maybe it's because I'm here, or it just hasn't kicked in yet, but I'm not really crying or freaking out just yet... might later, though.

(Also got interviewed in Japanese. They mentioned the Olympics being near and we want him to 頑張って. I said yes, but that he shouldn't push himself and his physical condition is the most important thing.)

going to repeat what I said on twitter. the best thing we can do now is to take a step back and breathe because honestly, wallowing in this won't help us and being angry at other people/the fates won't change anything. I'm sure Yuzu would feel worse knowing we're all so sad and lord knows he doesn't need more misery right now. The one thing we know for certain about FS is that nothing is certain and that includes a positive outcome. The tarot cards say so (lightheartedly)

I hope everyone here concentrates on self care (especially you guys still up in the early hours of the mornings, try to get some rest) and focus on the positives as much as possible. Hope those at NHK will still have a wonderful time, all things considered. We'll pull through with him :grouphug:

The odds of him being able to do a run through right after injury, with a full tear, are very, very, very low. Even with his tolerance for pain, his knee simply wouldn't have cooperated, even exerting all the will in the world. So right now the worst case scenario I'm thinking is a low grade tear.

Btw I'm not an expert. I'm just married to somebody with a very dodgy leg, especially knee, and have for years followed a handful of the most injury-prone sportspeople in the universe. Put together, I've acquired insight that helps me divide injuries and ligaments into Panic/No need to panic columns. At home it's usually 'See doctor tomorrow/Call physio tomorrow/Call ambulance now/It's okay I know how to sort this out without medical professionals' columns when spouse bangs up his knee again, which he does with alarming frequency. So I have currently not lost all chill, except about the bb crying.

I've just seen the news (the change in the banner was a good warning, thank you admins)

Damn, such a tough luck for Yuzu.:sadPooh:

The Universe owes him. BIG TIME.

Praying for steady recovery. Be strong, Yuzu! A lot of people are with you.:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

I think he has one full time coworking with Cricket. Ever since his own career, Brian never put down the importance of mental health to a good skater-that's why he created that app as well... This is one of the small comforts I'm taking- Cricket is probably the best place to belong to during the Olys season, or any hardships, really.

He's come back from great adversity to win before.

But I just remembered one thing I wanted to say and forgot: 勝つ日も、勝てない日も、私は羽生選手を応援しています。

Well, food for thought: There's nobody who does a comeback as well as Yuzu does! And if this was gonna happen, at least this happened now rather than at the rink in Pyeongchang  (a la Michelle Kwan oly press conference WD in 2006, the horror)
