Featured Replies

i find something interesting. they initially (maybe before the ur call was given?) gave yuzu 54.06 for his tes (+46.61 pcs = 100.67-1 = 99.67) which i think is a really good score for first gp, n then they adjusted it a bit after the ur call lmao dont ur your quads next time yuzu, it costs a lot

If this is the price we have to pay to get ur calls done right, then... I might just accept it... for future needs. cough.

This is way better than Skate canada so I'll take it.  I have a feeling he might make a mistake on the loop and  it happened. The UR call was right, actually he never got away with UR/edge calls and his UR jump is quite easy to spot. The fall on the 3T was quite unexpected, but his butt didn't touch the ice, so I could understand why some judges gave -2. His pcs is high. Its good to see him smile after it. I think this will fire him up to the LP. I dont expect he go clean, I hope he can rotate all his quads/3A and do all combos

And the new costume is ... I hope they put more gold details, or else the collar would look very strange.

As for the others, nice performances from Deniss, Aliev, Misha and Nathan. On the technical side, I thought Deniss's 3A, Nam's 4S, 3A were UR. But they didn't get call, well ~.

I think that doing Chopin for a third time is beginning to look like a mistake. :slinkaway:Especially given how he skated it this morning he's not doing himself any favors. As a Hanyu fan I was not impressed and it didn't look like the judges were either. If you're going to do a program for a third season you better sell the heck out of it. You have to skate it clean otherwise you're not justifying why you're using it. I know many will say Hanyu always had a slow start at the beginning the season. I'm well aware of his track record however he can't afford to make errors like that anymore when he's gotten Nathan Chen and Shoma Uno and many others nipping at his heels now he does not have a fall/mistake cushion anymore that doesn't exist.

I was rather surprised when I saw the TES counter after 4Lo because I could see it was UR in real time.

Reading/hearing longer comments after SP, I’ve got a feeling that he might have been struggling to adjust himself to layout changes, or had some problem with 4Lo especially. He sounds much more positive about his SP today than I thought. However, it seems that the 4Lo gave him confidence rather than anxiety, so I believe we’ll see the beautiful 4Lo again sooner or later.

I don’t worry too much about how he would be judged by the result of this competition. Every season the tide turns after each competition and he is kind of a person who would get to his goal no matter what. I just hope he will stay healthy and stay strong at heart.

Judges gave him high pcs with 2 mistakes. He also had a few -2 for a fall instead of -3. His tes was also quite high before technical specialist called ur on 4Lo. So I don't see how judges are not impressed with Chopin...

In this picture, he really looks like the sun shining in the blue sky:smiley-happy005:

Pooh is the sun...

Good morning ...What happened was like a dream...Without kuyashii talk, maybe it means it was in control...Worst case scenario is like 4cc...But if he wins like meoima predicts, I will . for everyone who questioned the third repeat...Come on it is still 94...If not Nathan but Patrick...

Actually, not bad,  considering he had 2 big errors. Let's not forgot how good a score he got for PCs, even though his program was not clean.

Any other skater with another program had his errors and they wouldn't even scratch 90.

Yes not bad. If it happens I :bow:to meoima not Zuzu...Actually both...Other skaters can get over 90 depending on judges and nationality

i think they acknowledge his very, very difficult programs in the first place. i mean the fair call on the ur means theyre actually good judges. imo he deserved all the 9s for that backcounter-3a-edge change-turn alone lmao but as ppl also know that's not the only difficult element on his program ;) (also cmiiw, but his edges are noticably improved this season, it's so much better, it has become my favorite thing to watch him just... skate, on practice) edit: well its actually not just this season since i went O_O watching him practice at 4cc, but i guess the program allows him to showcased it more, like the pace of the new stsq is very pleasing to watch :smiley-love017:

Probably the Kuyashiii took over.

Frankly, for everyone who's crying over this SP- you guys did not have to watch ACI Seimei live. That's all I will say. He fell yes, but remember at ACI Seimei, he only landed what 3 of 8 intended jumping passes (3Lo, 3F, 4S3T), fell on his 3A (that was painful), and popped everything else. This SP, ugly though it was, was no where near ACI Seimei levels.

Exactly

about the fallen 3 A, I was so kujashii , “ Et tu, Brute ??????”
