NHK Trophy 2017 in Osaka, Japan

Featured Replies

Since there's a topic for the GPF 2017 as well as Rostelecom Cup, I figured we should have a specific thread for NHK as well. I wanted to try for the Olympics but it's so difficult getting tickets that I'm close to giving up, can't go to the GPF since that coincides with my mom's birthday, so I'm gunning for NHK to be the one for me! I might plan for Milano though if I still have vacation hours left hahaha. I'm worried about how hard it is to get tickets, though. :xD:

Anyone else planning to go?

Count me in! I'm trying for NHK, GPF, and Olympics (and nationals if Yuzu will be there.)  No idea where the money will come from, though!

 Haha at this point I'm truly willing to watch everything if I can just nab some tickets (although I did say no to the ridiculous $11,000 3 events + hotel package CoSport was offering for the Olympics :xD:) but I already got approved for a November vacation for NHK, so fingers crossed the tickets won't be extremely hard to get! I really truly want to watch Yuzu live this season and support him from the crowds and not oceans away from my computer screen.

If I can get tickets, I'll go! And I would take what time I could before or after to explore Japan, as I have never been before. The dilemma is whether to book airfare and accommodations, without being sure of the tickets...

It's beautiful time of year to visit. I have a loosely planned family trip scheduled for November/December so that's why I'm keen to try to get to as many competitions as possible.

As for accommodation, Kyoto accommodation can be really difficult to book during peak autumn but there are so many airbnb places operating now it might not be so bad.

If I can get tickets, i will definitely go too.  I am far more interested in going to Japan than Moscow.  However if I can get any tickets at all!!!  Anyone with experience buying tickets in Japan, please share.

About accommodation, I think you can book those with free cancellation on booking.com.  That is what I did,  I booked 2 hotels in Osaka and Nagoya,  if no tickets I will just cancel the hotels.

Japan is a wonderful country to visit (I keep wanting to go back!), so whether or not I get tickets I'm still doing the vacation! I'm still hoping for NHK tickets though.

How do we try to get tickets? How much do resale tickets usually go for? And do I want to die in a stampede of Japanese Yuzu fans...

I got WTT trophy resale at $200 and $1880 so it could be anywhere in that range. It's not for sale yet but I'm definitely going to try

I'm contemplating trying to go, too... (I was contemplating GPF in Nagoya, too, but December is a bit... late. Plus, usually tends to be busy at work). But I haven't seen anything about tickets yet? Any idea when they usually go on sale? Also, I remember reading once something about some tickets being set aside for foreigners? Or was that about the 2019 Worlds?

I've also never been to Osaka and really wanted to visit Kansai in general... Plus, I really want to go to Japan again and really want to see Yuzu skate live :snonegai: (I contemplated Milan Worlds because it's at least on the same continent, but it's apparently a total pain to get to and from Milan... it's ridiculous >.<)

After arranging my trip to SCAC and COR, now I am thinking about watching NHK Trophy in Osaka, Japan. I have multiple VISA to Japan and visited OSAKA once.

Currently the main problem is having no idea how to get the ticket. Actually I can say Japan is the least friendly country to any foreigners willing to watch competition there.

The only channel for now I can think about is the re-sale website which you have to pay for a overpriced ticket but what more can you do? Finger crossed to wish this time I have good luck.

Re ticket: Last year they made an English section on their official page and provided an link for the ticket agency for foreigners. (http://www.nhk-trophy2016.jp/eng/index.html) I’m sure they’ll do the same this year too. Sadly I forgot when they started selling the tickets last year, but this year NHK Trophy is scheduled earlier, so announcements regarding tickets will also be made earlier, probably?

A company I contacted said info about ticket sales will be announced in August. I think I'd rather go to the Olympics but I don't know how I could ever get tickets (they didn't allocate any for Australians and I want to cry my face off) so I have that budget to throw away on resale tickets.
