NHK Trophy 2017 in Osaka, Japan

Good luck! @SparkleSalad!

I just booked my plane tickets, so one way or another, I'm going to Japan... Hoping the foreign ticket sale will work. If not, I might have to call in some very awkward favors :yznotimpressed: (I know various Japanese people, but none well enough to actually ask to use their address or so >_<)

OK, I asked and they confirmed: it'll be separate orders for each day. So even if we only buy one ticket for each day, we need separate orders for each (three orders). Inconvenient, but it makes sense, somewhat.

So two tickets per order is for the same day event???

So it seems, yes...

I posted this in GPF but it might help us with image training. :P

This is he e-tix site from 2013 GPF.

http://www.e-tix.jp/gpf2013oversea/gpf2013oversea.html

If you save your addresses and credit cards in whatever browser you're using then checkout should be very quick.

Do make sure you erase the auto-complete for your card after you've finished to avoid phishing scams.

Image training... I am going to train myself first then train all my friends...I can't trust my clicking speed...Going to find multiple people to aim for different days...

Can we buy tickets for other people? I mean there is name on the ticket too?

Hi guys,

I've been trying to find a way to enter the lottery from outside Japan and today got confirmation from my local JTB that they can get the Japanese JTB office to enter for me. They said tickets have to be delivered to a hotel/address in Japan if I win so you'll need to have accommodation sorted.

They're asking for a bit more money than the official site but I'm determined to maximise my chances. It would be nice to find out the results before the general sale, of course, so I might end up with an extra ticket, though chances are slim.

Anyway, I thought I'd let you all know incase you want to try your luck (and decrease mine by a tiny bit >_<.)

That's really useful info. Thanks!

I wonder if they can do that for all other skating events in Japan.

I don't think there will be any name on tickets.

Quick quesrion for anyone who has been to a comp before:

What do you think about the arena S seats on short side? Would it be better to go for stand SS if I can't get arena SS?

Ahhh, exciting! I still have only enough money for tickets (my trip planning methods are very sensible and not at all reckless.) You could try praying at SEIMEI shrine!

If I don't get NHK I'll go all out for GPF. I almost want to see him win 5 times there more than twice Olympic gold.

are you saying those non-lottery oversea tickets are fine for reselling?

Here is the e-tix FAQ. Nothing is mentioned about requiring proof of ID so there is likely no names on tickets.

http://www.e-tix.jp/html/service/qa_en_gim.html

It does however say that re-selling is forbidden, so there may be names, even without ID proof.

Last year I went to an event in Japan with a ticket I won in such a lottery and my name was on the ticket, but there was still no ID check, so... no idea, really.

Well they do specify that for electronic lottery tickets they can tell who bought them and that even if you have bought 2 - one for a friend - your friend must enter with you or you must go to the entrance to meet them if you're already inside.

Seeing as you can buy 2 tickets per transaction and there is nothing saying you have to enter with the person who will be using the other ticket, I think it will be fine. I also don't think they'll bother holding up lines to try and negotiate with seemingly non-Japanese speaking tourists. When I was randomly stopped by some sort of customs officer or policeman at the airport who asked me why I was in Japan (well after going through customs and having just bought my train ticket o_o) he more or less gave up straight away when I answered in English, and that was a matter of national security!

Of course, I can't advise anyone to risk it. I don't want to have to ake responsibility for any problems.  :tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid:

Well, since they have tickets for foreigners, technically, they should also have English speaking staff ;) Actually, your story is so weird, because everyone in the airport is supposed to speak English, especially officers... I actually had my luggage checked the first time and the lady there chatted with me in English while she was doing it. Maybe it was some newbie in your case lol

But yes, it shouldn't be a huge issue - unless the name on the ticket is Japanese and you're obviously not. The thing is, we don't know, as of now, what info we'll have to enter into the purchase form. So it's hard to say, either way...

I'm guessing the results of the lottery for the three-days tickets were announced lol (that was between 10th and 13th) (It made my heart skip a beat though lol)

Mine too! It's okay, though - there's still one week to go before all my hopes and dreams are crushed. And then he'll appear that night on 24hr tv to taunt me. :hachimaki:
