There is a lottery for the all event (e-ticket only, stand SS only) and for single day tickets (e-ticket and paper ticket). Then there are lotteries for tour packages which include tickets and travel and hotels etc. 

 

I think with paper tickets with it being 2 per order then they won't know who bought them and I don't think they would bother checking thousands of people. The all event e-tickets are only one per order and according to last years site they can tell instantly by the colour if they are yours or not.

 

I heard these events can sell out in 2 minutes. I haven't bought tickets online to anything in over 10 years so I have no idea how crazy this will be. I will probably buy resale if possible because my internet is way too slow to compete with Japanese fans.

Since single day is the last one to do the lottery...I guess I still need to try all event... If I am so lucky then I need to resale them...when do we know if we get the lottery...is it necessary to buy all different kinds in advance to prevent unluckiness...so many questions..So complicated I miss Boston...

I'm sorry for my ignorance, actually I don't understand about this lottery system.

 

If the tickets sold by lottery, then we can just apply and wait for the result, right? Just pray that we are lucky enough to get them. So how could the tickets sell out in 2 or 5 minutes?

There is a lottery and then a general sale after that so if you miss out on lottery tickets you can try buying them during the general sale period. Lottery isn't offered to foreigners so you'll have to find someone in Japan to help you but general sale is.

I'm not sure but the colour of the ticket on your smartphone changes if you try to use a different phone to display it. Then to prove it's really yours, incase you have just changed numbers or bought a new phone, you have to go to the desk and show photo ID etc. Again, this is info from last year's site.

So high tech. I still doubt about the definition of resale. But from the website, I see that you need to print out the e ticket, smart phone cannot be used. Unless ticket prints ticket holder's identification, resale might not be detected...

E-tickets are tickets displayed on your phone - no paper. You will have to download a special app to display it and it's conncected to your phone number. You can't really resell these but you can buy a ticket for a friend this way though they will have to be with you when you show your phone - they can't use it on their phone. All right no hope... Might find someone to buy the general sales tickets at the same time using my ID in order not to miss the gala...Otherwise, it will be a hard decision...

I think we need to make a small clarification.

 

There are tickets for Japanese customers and tickets for overseas customers.

 

The tickets for overseas need to be printed, don't include all event tickets (or the cheapest Stand A tickets) and, as far as I can tell, are not lottery.

 

The tickets for Japanese customers include three day tickets - lottery, starting August 10th - single day tickets - lottery, starting August 26th - and tour packages. They can be e-tickets or paper tickets (the latter reserved by phone; I guess lottery participation reserved by phone)

 

IF there are any tickets left, starting September 28th, those will be on sale, too.

 

So, unless all tickets are sold as three days, we should have a good chance. Especially if, indeed, overseas tickets are not lottery.

 

The only advantages to three day tickets are the earlier sale date and the tax per ticket, though. The price is otherwise the same as three Stand SS tickets.

I think it entirely depends on how NHK are going about this. If they have a number of 'overseas tickets' reserved, then we all have a great chance. And if not, why bother with an overseas website?

 

Tickets will probably have names on them. My previous experience didn't include any ID check, but it was a different issue. However, not all Japanese residents are Japanese, so name isn't that big an issue.

 

I suggest we wait till August 26th and see how it goes, before looking for risky alternatives

I can try to go, but I'd much rather go to the GPF. Although I'll try both and see. I can always sell the tickets. Seems like you can't resell the tickets. Well, if I can't get a name change or whatever on them it's not the end of the world.
