Thank you for sharing your experience, it is very helpful to hear from people who attended those things before. I have never even been into an ice rink before and have no idea how things would look like in the arena, this coupled with my limited funds is making me anxious :tumblr_inline_n18qr5AMus1qid2nw:

I have enough currently to buy the platinum tickets but if I spend it now I may not have enough money if better tickets become available later :unsure2:

I’m still saving for flights and accommodation so I can sympathise. :tumblr_inline_n18qr5AMus1qid2nw: I got a platinum ticket on the short side again for this comp because all the good seats on the long side were gone by the time I decided to go so I’m afraid that’s the only place I’ll have watched a gala from. :P Perhaps someone with more experience will be able to offer some advice.

I'm also watching the gala from the short side and hopefully it'll be good.

I've questions about bringing gifts to throw on the ice. Given my limited financial capablity, how much is a reasonable amount of money to spend? What are some suggestions to buy since I intend to support other skaters as well.

zero point zero zero euros is a very reasonable amount.

I'm serious, btw. It's not a necessity, and 99 % of the stuff that gets thrown onto the ice is probably never seen by the skater and goes to local charities and such. Besides, we're already paying way more than enough for the tickets, travel, place to stay, food... It's an expensive hobby!

If you want to do crazy stuff like, ahem, collect cuddly toys to throw onto the ice... you can make it as cheap and expensive as you want. I bought some of those always-end-up-on-their-bum small and larger round Poohs in the sale at a chain toy store (because I kind of liked how I saw mine on photos with Yuzu after his skates in Helsinki, *grin*, so I ended up buying more). But then I went to an open air market in the neighborhood and ended up buying a dozen second-hand Poohs for about 50 euro cents a piece. Definitely cheaper than any toy store sale!

(and no, I haven't got the faintest yet how I'm gonna manage to bring them all with me to Milan... or what to do with them if, heaven forbid, Yuzu doesn't go!)

I also bought a bunch of plastic fake roses and stuffed toys flowers, also at that market for a few cents a piece. Those wil be for whoever else I feel like throwing flowers at.

I remember at one of the Barcelona GPFs, there was a lady at the big supermarket near the skating rink who was buying dozens of small cuddly toys to throw onto the ice. It was really fun to see and probably didn't cost much, they weren't Disney brand or anything like that. ;-)

If nothing else, you can always buy some roses, have them packaged separately, those always go down well and look pretty. Or if you're creative, you can make something yourself.

Someone on facebook is selling B18 row 1 tickets for Men's short and free. I sent her a message to ask about price. After checking the map, I can't decide how good B18 is lol

or rather, how good row one is. There might be a really big horizontal bar right in front of your eyes...

edit: or is that just at the row 1s in the A blocks?

I think it's row 1 in block B18. Which, according to the map, is further away from the rink than the A blocks on that side... but I'm not sure how that would work. But either way, good point about the bar... honestly, if it was gala front row, I'd probably pounce myself, because of the chance of maybe touching hands with skaters, if close enough lol (unless they have space to the rink on all sides, then no chance). But for the competition, I think my row 2 should be enough. Where is the skaters' entrance supposed to be? If it's near B18, that would be an argument in its favor, but I don't remember...

ETA: regarding previous viewing experience, at NHK I was basically on the balcony above and to the right of the KnC, several rows up. Because of that, I couldn't see the KnC and only relied on the screens for what was happening there. I could see the skaters coming off the ice or going on the ice, but the KnC itself was blocked from view. Just a heads up for those getting tickets in the areas above the KnC. Unless you're in the front rows, there's a chance you won't be able to see it.

Yes, that's the same corner as the entrance, I think.

I'm not into touching sweaty skaters' hands, but if that's your thing, go for it.  (assuming they can reach that high up).

Ahh, I forgot about the dang bar (why did they have to choose this venue?!) I wonder if that's why the only tickets I've seenpeople selling are in the front 2 rows.

I think the skaters entrance is near B18, though I can't recall where I saw that information.

It doesn't bother me, so... lol

If it is, the price might be accordingly. I'll need to find that pdf again... was the bar that bad? (I remember I was mostly distracted by all that red >.<)

Whoever designed this arena is a genius. -_-

Spoiler

I'm almost exactly the height of the 2nd lady. The last photo is the view from the 2nd row which doesn't seem that bad as the red bars around the bottom seem to line up with the blue bar anyway.

The first two rows don't seem to be good...

The pdf is here and yes, the athletes entrance is next to B18, between B15-B17 sectors.

:offtopic:Hello everyone!

I don't know if someone has already mentioned "the Last Supper" of Leonardo da Vinci. Just infometion for those who want to see this masterpiece in Milan.

I'll be in Milan in march, so I'm very excited to see Yuzu's performances and glad to meet some of you there.<3 I also planed to see the Last Supper in this occasion when I don't have the performances from Yuzu. Recently I've learned that the reservation is compulsory. So I made a reservation on phone last week, but it was very complicated for me because I couldn't understand what the lady on phone said in english and she didn't understand well the credit card numbers that I gave her.:13877886:Finaly I used my poor italien to say like Uno, siete, due...(my italien is juste limited in counting 1-10 and few words though...). And it did work!!:party2:

Do not go to the sites which are not official. Their tickets are very very expensive, arrond 45 euros!!:salty:     The official site is there:   https://www.vivaticket.it/index.php?nvpg[tour]&id=744. The ticket price is  12 euros there(full fare10euros +reservation fee 2euros). But online reservaion doesn't work on this site, you have to call them. But it's worth doing it. Good luck!:snpeace:

@YuU Thanks so much for the tips! I haven’t yet planned anything to do around the competition but it would be a shame not to see anything while I’m there. I really wanted to see the cartoon for the School of Athens but apparently it’s currently being restored, such is my luck!
