I didnt know the change of order.  I wanted to go to CoR next year...

And keep it up with your volunteer!!! Yes, as @Murieleirumsaid, I was accepted as a volunteer although Im a native Japanese living in Czech.  My duty seems at special lounge for spectators (judges or someone?) from US, Canada and Japan.

Glad to see you at Worlds!

Oh you are from Czech Republic? What a shame I didn't found out a bit earlier... My friend and I are going to SP and were looking for some Czech fans we could discuss everything about accommodation and stuff like that with :tumblr_inline_n18qr5lPWB1qid2nw:

Thank you :10636614:So the practice before each event will start at 10:00? I’m not sure whether the competition or the practice start at 10 am... or shall I arrive much earlier

As @axelnojutsu said, practices start at 6 am. Good news is that Yuzu will most probably practice in the last group so depending on if you prioritize sleep over good seats you might not have to wake up that early...

A more detailed practice schedule should be released closer to the event

Thanks for the info! I’ll prepare for musical chairs, then!

Hmmm, I wonder now if judges side or just as close as possible. I think I might be indecisive to the point of insanity. Please can I just be God so I can watch from every angle at every distance?

I was in judges side at ACI where cross rolls happened right in front of me :13877886:

I could see his face too cause I was very close :dpooh:

Dream tickets were listed and sold on GS while I was asleep. :dbana: If anyone happens to see any more such wonderful seats anywhere, would they mind sending a teeny tiny PM to the seller? :snonegai:

Hello, so this might me kind of a stupid question and I'm not sure it really belongs in this thread, but I wanna go to worlds and I've never been to a fs competition before. So I'm asking for some advice: is there something crucial I should know about and stuff? (I know this is really vague lol, I have no idea what I'm doing.) Also, is there anyone here from the Czech republic going? Just wandering

My personal rule number one: bring some decent layers of clothes and/or a fleece blanket or some such, just in case. It's probably not very cold, but you will be sitting still for hours on end. (My first-ever figure skating event was an EXTREMELY cold experience. I've learned my lesson.)

Also, don't go stalking skaters or coaches etc. It's not an autograph event.

Other than that, you're good.

Thanks, I'll do that

Has anyone had experience using public transportation in Milan? I would rather not rely on a cab to travel to and from the airport (expense and another set of logistics in and of itself).

I'll be coming from Malpensa Airport and according to Google Maps, there is an express train run by Trenord (link to map) that connects to metro lines at the heart of Milan. I'm not sure how to buy or pay for fares, do transfers, and if the metro lines are surface trains or underground. I'm not even 100% sure about the connections, I'm looking at several transit maps and I'm just so confused??? Halp.

Edit: Okay so I think I need to transfer to Cadorna Milano on M2 (Cadorna FN M1 station) uhh

Yup, that's the one. Train to Cadorna, and south on the M2 to Assago Forum (unless your hotel is elsewhere, of course). ;-)

Should be easy enough, just remember that you need CUMULATIVE U + 1 ZONE tickets when traveling from the city to the Forum.

I wouldn't worry about getting tickets for the train or metro, just look confused and let anyone point you towards the nearest ticketing machines. Always works for me. ;-)

I finally managed to secure funds to buy tickets to the Gala and as expected the good seats are gone. I have been saving for two months for this and really want a good place, so now I am hesitating to buy anything if it is possible to get better seats later :unsure2:

Any advice? are the seats available now good or should I wait in hope of someone selling their tickets later?

If anyone sees good gala tickets on sale, please let me know  :snonegai:

Okay, thanks. I'll be arriving late evening from the airport so that's why I want to be extra prepared. The less stalling around areas, the better. Would you be so kind to point to where I can see the fares online?

http://www.malpensaexpress.it/en

Should be 13 euro single ticket from the airport to the city center.

Metro: https://www.atm.it/en/Pages/default.aspx

The cumulative  U + 1 metro tickets are 2,50 euro. https://www.atm.it/en/ViaggiaConNoi/Biglietti/Pages/Biglietticumulativi.aspx

If you're traveling back and forth from the city to the Forum, a Weekly 2x6 Cumulative Pass at 17,50 euros would be a cheaper option (for 6 days, 2 journeys in a day.)

I sat in arena row 2 on the short side at NHK and had a magical time, though I would recommend a bit further back anyway as you won’t be able to see their feet when they come close to the boards. Even though the other end of the rink is quite far away, it’s still enjoyable and you at least get to half of it up close.

I haven’t seen any new tickets released since I bought mine so I’m keeping an eye out on GS etc. myself in case something better comes along. If you have enough saved, maybe buy something now and sell if you manage to find anything better later.

Thank you for sharing your experience, it is very helpful to hear from people who attended those things before. I have never even been into an ice rink before and have no idea how things would look like in the arena, this coupled with my limited funds is making me anxious :tumblr_inline_n18qr5AMus1qid2nw:

I have enough currently to buy the platinum tickets but if I spend it now I may not have enough money if better tickets become available later :unsure2:
