February 12, 20224 yr I don't know where to post this, but as they are talking about Valieva, I put it here. Interviewer is Christine Brennan and she is talking to Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin. To me it almost sounds like bullying.

She was horrible how she forced Diana to say a word.
February 12, 20224 yr They're salty about Chinese media not eating up the fake hype around Nate and focusing on Yuzu instead. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].

I think media really don't know how the world functions (or maybe is just American media). And as I answered there, it's not about race, it's not about nationality, it's about the impact that a personality has over the people. And clearly they don't understand the impact that Yuzu had in the majority of his fans' life. When a person you admire is down, you pick him up and he has a lot of potential helpers to help. 2 minutes ago, Bilge said: I’m really enjoying this lol sorry but yuzu deserves it all😎 Me, too! Gosh I hope Yuzu is fine.

Gosh I hope Yuzu is fine. These journalists don't understand that the love and admiration people have for Yuzu go far beyond his medals and wins. They also don't seem to understand that someone like Yuzu is loved far beyond all artificial borders. Yuzu transcends all of these. That's why he as a person as well as his passion, emotions, expressions, mastery, and performances are understood, felt, and loved by people around the world.

Mass Media? pffft who cares anymore ) cannot read the room (misunderstood the reason why Yuzu is so popular), they put the cart before the horse (people admired Yuzu because he combines athleticism and artistry so well → gets rewarded (gold medals, WRs), not the other way around(!). The rewards are just a side effect, not the main cause, and yet the reporters over at the CNN missed this!). Anyway, don't mind if I get some Schadenfreude out of this
February 13, 20224 yr Just a general comment on CNN: they absolutely do not understand sports and/or fandom at all. No surprise to me that they don't get why everyone loves Yuzu even though he didn't win this time. so I'm not a huge fan of Adam, but just in case anyone is interested, he's weighed in on the doping thing as well: https://www.npr.org/2022/02/12/1080338657/olympics-2022-russia-doping-kamila-valieva-adam-rippon

Anyway, don't mind if I get some Schadenfreude out of this It is an interesting article save for the bitter part about Chen. Anyway, Chen also digs his own hole. He publicly endorses Evan's comments on the Uighur issue and he skated to Mao's Last Dancer without even knowing the story behind it. China is very sensitive about these kinds of stuff. But yes, Yuzu is loved in China and across the world. What is there to not understand? Just accolades alone can't buy you admiration and loyalty. Stay mad, US media. PS: the Wall Street Journal also published similar article in which a small part highlights Yuzu's and Chen's popularity and fanbase in China. They must really, really feel salty lol.
February 13, 20224 yr This is so vile. Christine Brennan really went out of line harassing Diana about an issue that has nothing to do with her, shaming her for not speaking English. Just because she was born in the US doesn't mean she must speak English. And she has hearing impairment.
February 13, 20224 yr Yuzu's programs are so captivating that you want to watch them over and over again. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
