We could do polls in which we pit 2 programs against one another, sort of like a tournament, until we reach a manageable amount of performances that would last together for about 2 hours

In the end we would feel so bad for the loosing programs that we would include them too as a bonus.

There's also the possibility, easier one I think, to do multiple days and watch the best performance of each program? But I'm afraid that will get too much with the Skating Party going on plus real life

the first yuzuru hanyu competition i watched in person <3

...and me....from up in the balcony (37 euros for the men's event!) - it was worth every penny! I would have paid 100 times as much to see that masterpiece!

Unfortunately my last live comp was GPF 2019 - the most outrageous underscoring, and overscoring of another, no Ghislain, sad Yuzu in K&C; BUT Yuzu skated Otonal beautifully imo (despite mistake) and did a 5 quad free with the most beautiful 4Lz, he looked so gorgeous and sparkly in his origin costume, and the audience was so loud in supporting him throughout and especially during the VC, I just know he really felt our love (and there was a mega-pooh rain!) - so it is after all a positive memory despite ISU attempts to wreck the experience for Yuzu and fanyus (plus we saw another beautiful Notte Stellata....)

These memories of Yuzuru to treasure forever. We are very lucky.

And there will be more, that is the good news!

(.....ok, yes, I am still crying intermittently too, mainly because I adore Yuzuru so much,  and also I am so proud of how he thinks and behaves, and how he treats us his fans. I have always thought of him as someone precious and rare, a treasure to be cherished (you'd think by the governing body :smiley-angry022: as well as by the wider skating community and of course by us his fans - and he said something today that made me think he really knows that that is how we feel about him, and because of that sense he is treasured by others, he is going to treasure himself too. Ooops waaaaah crying again but I blame @Perelandra and the Prosecco!!)

end of ramble :drink: (honestly I have only had a glass!)(a normal sized glass!)

Oh, One more thing! WAKE UP! Thanks all for all these posts, means a lot to those of us who had some other commitments today, it makes it so easy to catch up on all the news and views, Everyone did great today.

How about doing three parts: from first senior season to Sochi, from Sochi to PC and from PC to Beijing?

@Pammi:pouty:sorry, for making you cry ( crying too ) the Prosecco was supposed to help. Maybe you need more chocolate or kittens:tumblr_inline_mm2wnxgTbV1qz4rgp:

There were several of these very comforting calls for baby fanyus and it was great to be somehow taken care of. Yuzu is most important and it was him, who didn't sleep at night, was nervous and shaking. It is his life, we will always support him.

But especially post-Beijing fans with 5 months in their fandom, having the experience of watching often a single competitive Yuzu's performance, have been in despair. I am almost sure we will move from this place and will be happy, but it's still hard.

Nobu is a crying mess

It's a really mixed feeling. How can one be happy and sad at the same time?

This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].

I haven't cried all day. But when I see other people crying I cry. Thank you Nobu (who was trending, by the way, early this afternoon on twitter - 7 Yuzu's related trends at the same time) for making me cry. Crying is good right? Yuzu said so.

I agree with everything you said, except he’s not just a “once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon.” With his skating, personality, character, charisma, grace and beauty, he is a unicorn – a hypothetical ideal who actually exists. A skater the likes of whom no one has ever seen before and will never see again.

I do wonder sometimes how he can be so good and polite every time, when his life was a roller coaster and we know only 1% of his life. And I won't accept "he is Japanese" as an answer because I know Japanese people are the most polite on this planet but the sh!t life thru at him could be the beginning of a criminal record. But his over all behaviour is what made me stay after I've watched Hope and Legacy (well after watching his programs after watching H&L).

Ah can't wait to see what he will bring to life!

Just a personal piece of processing, feel free to skip it. (@Pammi: I wrote this before reading your last post  - many similar thoughts about GPF 2019...)

I'm miserable. I'm in a hotel room and had to go get tissues in the car that were meant to last the entire vacation. But after three hours of continuous crying while reading the chat, I've never seen my eyes so puffy.

Thank you to everyone who posted their thoughts along with the news over the past 24 hours. Thank you so much for the virtual hand-holds and hugs. :grouphug: I admire those who are already so positive and relieved with the new fact. After a while, I think I can share your views.

Right now, I'm lost. I will cancel my hotel in Turin tomorrow. It should have been the crowning glory of a special year for me. Will I never meet other satellites in an arena now? What will I do with the Winnie the Pooh that was sent to Stockholm and back by parcel post? And the other, small one that traveled with me through Paris, wasn't I going to hang it on my bag when I made my pilgrimage back to Palavela? Did I witness the greatest Pooh rain of all time, yet without throwing one on the ice myself? GPF 2019, my once-in-a-lifetime chance to see Yuzuru. The 4Lutz, the glitter of Origin 2.0, Swanyu's Biellmann, the spins with the gold ribbon... And now? No more costume from Satomi for Yuzuru's beautiful body lines?
The mottos on the UA collar, the cool down routines, the tweets with minutes during the OP.... Can we consider runthrough Otoñal at Skate Canada 2019 as the 20th world record?

When he spoke in some interviews of nervousness that was not visible to him before and during the skate.... Instead, we felt only those of the audience, who held their breath, clasped their hands, screamed. And now we are never to experience LMEY with audience screaming? No Rondo world record?

It's all been said - the getting up in the middle of the night, the battle for tickets, the unhealthily high blood pressure level for two and a half / four minutes, the anger over unfair scoring.... Thanks to everyone here who did and felt the same and confirmed to me that we were allowed to accompany a phenomenon of the century!
I'm sorry, Yuzuru, but I can't help the sadness, even if you made the right decision. I admire you once again for the way you stood in front of the media and the world and found the right words.

At the very beginning, when I started reading in this community, I stumbled upon the sentence "Life as a fanyu is a roller coaster". I thought it was funny and very soon realized how true that statement was. To this day I have not ridden a roller coaster, somehow I never needed that adrenaline rush. I know it's not the end, but it feels like the roller coaster ride with Yuzuru has come to a stop and I've landed on the hard ground. I think, from this day on, I will never ever do a roller coaster ride in real life. It's nothing compared to all the emotions I owe Yuzuru through the last three and a half years.

I love you, Yuzuru. Miss you so much. And - sorry - thank you from the bottem of my heart.

Yuzu's ice shows will be a whole new genre, like CiONTU. Yes there will be fun group numbers but I also don't think that we have seen the last of gorgeous, elegant, sophisticated solo programmes for Yuzu to showcase what he does best. There will be new creations featuring thrilling elements including jumps, maybe even Nessie and favourites to be revisited and perfected. As for costuming, these competition programmes won't be the last Satomi Ito designs that we see Yuzu clad in.

It won't be the same as a competition, but Yuzu wants a different skating life. I think that it will be a fantastic new journey to go on with Yuzu. I'm going to try to see the shows, somehow I will manage this. Best of all we will go and see him as a group, together. I believe this

I've missed out, due to family and work commitments in the past, I regret that. Of course like everyone else, hoping for just one more season, and especially as Europe is so accessible for me at least. I thought I might have a few chances to fight for tickets. I was prepared to pay for Premium, Platinum and VIP, even had hotels and Turin flight booked and bought Poohs.

Now that the dreaded day has arrived, and everyone survived (albeit with some hurt in their hearts), future possibilities raise their heads.

Could we ever see Japan Open participation? It was never in the cards before, but maybe one day he might wish to  exercise those competitive juices.... even with JSF involvement. You never know. Desire can conquer hurdles.

Could we see some specialist commentary on events or participants at future competitions, with no fear of reprisals from grumbling judges? (Wilst remaining ever so polite, naturally). I can see him doing this after a few years. Maybe not right away. Chit chat between him and Nobu would be worth the price.

Perhaps a few instructional seminars for kids around the world? His platform is so unique, special, and far reaching that spreading his influence would only add to his legacy.

HOPEFULLY, participation in tours outside of Japan for a change.... I'm sure he'll do his own tour or show, but it would be nice if our international superstar would spread his wings to include the rest of the world as well.

P.s. I'm glad I decided against SCI tickets too. I had this feeling.... and, our reliance on Japanese fanyus now increases as he will most likely focus everything there.
