General Yuzuru Chat
I haven't posted in a long time, but today I need to do it. I'm so sad and angry for Yuzu, his spouse and their family! There must be a legal way to stop all that stalking and harassment. It's unbelievable that people, no matter how famous they are, can't be able to live their own lives. Nobody has the right to harass anyone. Yuzu is free to share with his fans whatever he wants about his private life (and he can share nothing at all if he wants to). He is giving all his fans stellar performances, hard work, artistry... but his personal life is his alone. I don't know if he or his family will ever read this, but, if they do, I'd like to show all my support. He deserves happiness, because he gives happiness to all his fans. And he deserves to be left alone to live his own life. He shouldn't be forced to give up his relationship because of all those nasty people. I don't know anything about Japanese laws, but I really hope he can take legal actions against those people. And my greatest desire is that Yuzu can find his true happiness. You're not alone, Yuzu. We love and respect you and your family.

I couldn't agree more with you. As you very eloquently said, Yuzu and us live in different worlds. We admire his skating, his artistry, his courage, his thoughtful words and his personality, but if we speak about his private life, he doesn't owe us anything. He has told us many times he's not an idol, but an athlete. And, IMHO, his marriage announcement was very thoughtful and carefully worded. He wanted us, his fans, to get the news about his new personal status from himself, not from any tabloid or gossip magazine. But he wants his privacy. And I'm almost sure his wife wants privacy, too, so they both decided to keep her identity a secret. It has nothing to do with patriarchy or women erasure, they both have the right to share what they want about their private lives. He shares his skating, his thoughts and his art, but under no circumstances he has to share every single thing of his personal life with his fans. He's already given us a lot.

There's a long time since I last wrote a post in this forum, but I came back to wish Yuzu and his wife all the happiness in the world. I'm also glad because almost 99% of the reactions on the internet are positive: most people are happy for Yuzu and wishing him happiness and good luck in this new stage, and telling him they are with him no matter what and they are looking forward to his new ice shows. Not gonna lie, I've also read some nasty/negative responses. I'd like to think they come, mostly, from teenagers who were somewhat "infatuated" with Yuzu and his good looks, but not all those reactions are from teenagers, sadly. I want to tell these people that Yuzu is a human being with a private life, an athlete and not an idol, and that nobody has the right to make a claim to him about his personal life. Fortunately, these people are a minority in the fandom. All in all, I'm happy for him and his partner. Best wishes and best luck, Yuzu.

I agree, it’s very painful to watch. But, on the other hand, it shows us his strength and his courage. Not many athletes could have done it. (

I agree with you. Yuzu looks like a smart, level-headed person. I trust him and I think he knows what he’s doing. I just hope he’s healthy enough.

We were right, he knew all the time. Which is very painful to read, but also shows everyone how strong he is. I’m glad he got out of that awful system, and that he’s still giving all his fans so much. And I’m glad he looks much happier now.

This is a good idea. I think many of us, non-Japanese speaking fans, will gladly buy the books, even an e-book version if a paper version is not available.
