  2. I don't remember the translation but the video is here. If I remember correctly (don't quote me on this) something about the music reminding them about a particular memorable skate by Hanyu.

  4. He and his team might've thought it was too much for this early in the season? I means he's doing the S.Korea Selection Event on July 28-30th and Asian Trophy is on Aug 2-5.
  5. I know of 2 commentators who would be judging this against Yuzu's performance (they did it with Han Yan's R+J last season as well).

  7. Hmmmm... I guess that's actually one of the most disappointing thing. The fact that they used similar music cuts, you'd that his team would be a bit more cautious with the choreography especially since Vincent himself has seen Yuzu's program enough to say it's one of his favourites.
  8. I agree. Nobody's saying Yuzu owns Romeo and Juliet but it's the music cuts and choreography that makes it up for comparison. Some of the timing of the jumps to the music (that third jumping pass) and especially the final choreo sequence down to the final jumping pass and spins. I just feel there's not a lot of originality in this program.
  9. Aaaaaah, thank you so much! As much as I want to help I have absolutely no knowledge of encoding... at all. So thank you for all the time and effort you put into this.
  10. He's a charmer alright. hahaha.. This was really fun to watch, especially the step sequence. I think he still does that sequence during ice shows? I remember he did it in one of the FaOI tour when they introduced him. (found it!)
  11. Also.. (source)
  12. Well, not casually but all evidence indicates he's a serious gamer. There's his MonHun commercial (where he named his characters after jumps) Behind the scenes:
  13. I don't know what the context for this is but I just find the picture funny.
  14. Hmmmmm.... it might be too much to say never use the music, it's a warhorse for a reason. Also, honestly, unless you're a Yuzu fan, most people would probably not think about the comparison. I think the problem with Vincent's music is the music cuts and some of the choreography is a bit similar to Yuzu's R+J1. I get the feeling he's trying to pay homage to Yuzu's performance since he did mention that it's one of his favourite performance. Unfortunately, it's hard to replicate the emotional aspect of the program. Nothing to do with Vincent, but the circumstances that lead to that particular skate was something deeply innate and tied with Yuzu's experience. I think it would've been better for him to choose different cuts for the music and use different choreography. But, like I said, it's still early. He and his team might change things around and tweak some things here and there.
  15. Interesting read. I like Keiji but I feel like rooting for Daddy Mura when I read his interviews. Cool info: Yuzu advised him on how to stabilise his 4T and 4S.
  16. Wow! I didn't realise just how much they achieved at the Vancouver games! This must've been such a happy win.
  17. This is actually what I'm most worried about. I think Uncle Kurt also said it (and I paraphrase) "his deep knee bend is able to save his landings but I can't imagine what his knees and hips are gonna be like in 10 years." I'm really worried about these youngsters going for the shortcut route to medalling. These guys are essentially guinea pigs right now on how much a still growing body can endure all these quads because we may not get an answer until years later. Although, if we take a look at Plushenko and the countless surgery he had it gives as a pretty good idea.
  18. I don't think there's an official score sheet yet from Skate Detroit but from what I've seen Vincent got 177.65 for his FS [99.85 TES / 78.80 PCS -1]. Yuzu's WC 2012 score was 173.99 [91.99 TES / 83 PCS -1]. So, Yuzu's TES with 1 quad (a 4T) is only 7.86 less than a 4 quad program with 4Lz and 4F. I'm a bit confused with the PCS but let's face it, scoring for PCS is always confusing (also, I haven't seen the protocols). So, I don't think the score is that shocking really. It's also still a bit early and the program may change over the season. Personally, I don't think I can enjoy or appreciate it mainly because I've watched Yuzu's 2012 WC skate so much I can pinpoint the exact note where he fell even without watching the video and just listening to the music. But, again, that's a personal thing. Something that most Yuzu fans will probably share. However, to be honest, casual fans and judges probably will not see any issues with his music choices + cuts.
  19. I'm weak for chibi yuzu fanarts.
  20. Must watch Yuzu program list with chibis! (accdg to google translate )
  21. Keiji! He's using Prophet by Gary Moore as his SP music.
  22. Carmen? Already a Bingo! Is it just me or is this Olympic Season more warhorsey than usual?
  23. I missed this again. But I think I'm in a different timezone from everyone. I'll try my hardest for the next season's streaming party.
  24. I think Keiji, Yuna Shiraiwa, Kaori Sakamoto, Takahashi/Shibata, and a lot of skaters from team Korea (including CJH and Dabn Choi announced that they were participating.
