Thank you so much, Altie! Especially in this part I can understand what he says here more clearly with your corrections. Stéphane has been a great teacher for many Japanese skaters. Most of them gained confidence after taking his lessons and became stronger skaters. I still want to see him as a skater but also hope he will succeed as a coach, too.

First (after Worlds2013) I was worried about his knee, then relieved to see him getting better, (he still wasn’t in good shape in June, but in July he finished each shows with crazy jump sequences, like in first week he did 4T-3A-3A, then next week he did 4T-3A-3A-3A…) then got worried again seeing Skate America (where Tatsuki Machida skated pretty well) and Skate Canada (where Yuzu did not skate so well…,) but relieved to see perfect PW again in TEB, thrilled to see GPF and almost dead from fatigue after Nationals, struggling to catch up everything happened in Sochi each day and fell asleep after seeing men’s FS, crossing my finger all through the season for his opening 4S in FS. Being written out, it doesn’t seem especially tough. Seasons after Sochi might be a lot tougher for him and for fans, because the roller coaster has become more huge and complex than before, though he got stronger, too. As for 2017-2018, I want to focus on appreciating each of his performances as much as possible, praying for his good luck.

The lady on the left is the host of this show, Miho Nakai. (Translation) Miho: So you said you love figure skating, do you enjoy watching it on TV or do you actually go to the venue to see it in person and cheer the skaters? Fuuto: When my schedule allows I go to the venue too, but I haven’t have such chance for 2 years… Miho: How was it seen in person? Fuuto: It was more intense. The speed and the height of the jumps were more impressive than seen on TV. I thought that this should be seen in person. Miho: Who do you like most? Fuuto: Yuzuru Hanyu. (laughs) Miho: What do you like most about Hanyu? Fuuto: Well… the way he tries to improve himself. I think it’s amazing. Everyone is expecting him to show something new, and he always goes beyond such expectations, right? That’s not everyone can normally do. I agree with your whole post. Girls channel is an anonymous board where girls (or boys, young and old) can talk about anything they want. In the original Japanese board people were trashing not only Yuzu but also Nagatomo, Nishikori, Otani. I also found many haters (who know FS quite well) posting there. The whole discussion is kind of fun to read, but the quotes opened this discussion do not necessarily represent the opinion of common Japanese girls.
