Itami (name of a city in Kansai) とか。

Even if you could record it you would not be able to share it without trouble because everybody knows it’s prohibited. It’s a shame but now in many shows in Japan there are TV crews. They record things even when they don’t broadcast the whole show and share them when they are interesting like Asahi shared the Ballade No.1 on Makuhari day 3. Hope we’ll be able to see some of the Niigata shows too.

There are no fancam clip since it was in Japan, but there are some on-site reports on that crazy jump sequence. @ppsk8 (twitter account of a group of figure skating writers which has been providing reports on many shows and competitions) Aiko (one of the writer): (Report on finale, continued from the last post) Meanwhile, Hanyu nailed 4T-3A-3A-3A-1A as if to see how much he could continue adding 3A. Then Hanyu and Koriyama made victory run doing the PW Lunge (Pistol pose). Brian Orser and David Wilson, the choreographers of this show also saluted to the audience. @sk8fanjenny [Report on FaOI including spoiler] The finale packed with jumps by Hanyu was uplifting. Reminded me of how I felt when I saw 4T-3T-2T by Kevin Reynolds at WTT2013. (On Yuzu’s jump sequence) Was it 4T-3A-3A-3A-1A? Stephane who was standing by to join the jump fest was like “What? Are you still going to add one more?”

Oh I see. Maxim and Sergei are both training in CSKA… I thought the combination of Maxim and Misha’s choreo would be interesting… But thank you for clarifying

It’s a clip from a program “Youは何しに日本へ?(Why did you come to Japan?)” in which a TV crew interviews people from outside of Japan in an international airport on why they visit Japan. In this program every interview begins with “Why did YOU come to Japan” and every interviewee is called “You”. In the past, Jason Brown, Evgeni Plushenko and Stéphane Lambiel also appeared in this program as “You”.

Competition Commentary & Translations (Spreadsheet)
sweetwater replied to gladi's topic in Translations
Sochi Olympic Games 2014 Individual event SP Japanese commentary video Announcer: Takaki Toriumi. He has been working for NHK since early 90’s and done play-by-play announcement for NHK Trophy many times. Commentator: Takeshi Honda. Former single skater. Two-time Olympian and World bronze medalist. First 4CC champion and six-time national champion. He is also the first Japanese skater who landed a quadruple jump in a competition. He is now coaching in Osaka. He had been training in Ice Rink Sendai in early 90’s with Shizuka Arakawa. Toriumi: Under Brian Orser’s watchful eyes, he psyched himself up. Here comes the challenge for Yuzuru Hanyu. In team event he impressed the whole world with his strength as the world’s top-ranked skater. In GPF held in December, he became champion defeating Patrick Chan who has been winning three consecutive world championship titles. To win an Olympic gold medal he has to take lead in this short program. Toriumi: The music is “Parisienne Walkways”. Toriumi: Here comes the opening quadruple jump. Toriumi: Landed it! Honda: Perfect! Toriumi: Hanyu has planned two jumps in the second half of his short program. Toriumi: What a height! Honda: Triple Axel. Honda: Triple Lutz, triple toe loop. Toriumi: He nailed all three jumps perfectly. Honda: Combination spin. Toriumi: So strong! Toriuimi: Yuzuru Hanyu, the world’s top-ranked skater showed his toughness. Honda: Wow, it’s amazing. Toriumi: His performance seemed almost perfect. Toriumi: The world’s highest score in men’s short program is 99.84. No one has ever gone through the 100-point barrier yet, but Yuzuru Hanyu’s performance today made us expect something like that to happen. Japanese flags are waving in Iceberg Skating Palace. He captured the hearts of Russian fans. What an amazing 19-year-old, isn’t he, Mr. Honda? Honda: He is amazing. He has been really fierce in the short program all through this season. Toriumi: Indeed. Honda: And he could perform it fiercely here in the Olympics, too. It’s incredible. (Seeing highlights of Yuzuru’s performance) Toriumi: This is his first jump. Honda: The first quadruple jump… it has good distance and heights. Fully rotated before landing. Toriumi: Uh-huh. Honda: The triple Axel from difficult entry… and the triple Lutz-triple toe loop combination. Toriumi: (laughs as he sees Brian Orser jumping when Yuzuru was jumping) Yuzuru Hanyu put his palms together like he did in team event. Mr. Honda, I think he might break the 100-point barrier. Honda: Yeah, it is highly possible. Toriumi: No one has ever scored over 100 in short program… Here comes his score! Toriumi: 101.45! Finally! It’s the world’s highest score in short program! He achieved an incredible feat on the big stage of the Olympics! Yuzuru Hanyu broke the 100-point barrier for the first time in history. *Made a few corrections on 3/6/2017 19:05(JST) -
Takahiko Kozuka and Miki Ando were supported by Toyota as their contract employees when they were competing. According to Miki they paid her monthly salary as much as they paid for other office workers and sometimes assigned her some jobs for Toyota. Having read the recent news about Shoma and Toyota, I think Shoma will receive same support as Takahiko and Miki did from Toyota. (Takahiko became Toyota’s regular employee after his r****ment but now he has switched back to contract employee to do more FS-related activities.) ETA: Takahiko and Miki were both going to Chukyo Univ. at that time as employees of Toyota learning something useful for the company.

Yeah, in a short interview at JOC meeting released in World Figure Skating EXTRA WTT issue he says he still has exercise restrictions. It might take a little more time but hope he’ll get fully healed and become able to enjoy skating again.

According to Quadruple, Ryuju Hino has parted from Mr. Nagakubo. He is now coached by Yoshinori Onishi, who coached Tatuki Machida in 2013-2014.

Going to take a nap with this...

Marin was in the short clip, right after Yuzu's opening dance

Yuzu's coming! ETA: very short but you'll see yuzu
-
This is not from Mezamashi but Sean Rabbitt was interviewed by Japanese TV and they introduce him with a photo of him and Yuzu (and Nam)
-
Good to hear that. I’m also enjoying your commentaries on CMs, croissants, etc.

Many of the news clips posted on twitter are cut out from this sort of looooong news shows. We often search for 40 seconds of Yuzu from 3 hours show. I’m little bit worried because sometimes they don’t show us what they told us they would… I hope they'll keep their words today.
