Sukigirl
When you think about impact of repeated 4lzes and 3As on fragile developing bodies and soft bones....*wince*

Her problematic jumping technique and all those hard elements in her programs could lead to very serious injuries (again) in no time. She doesn't even need all those quads and 3As at such a young age. Her team could focus on slowly building up her technique and improving other skills, and thus giving her more chances to stay healthy in the next coming seasons. But not just the physical, also the mental preparation is important for a young skater - the media hype around her is already big enough even though she hasn't even competed in any international junior competitions yet... Sombreuil
She’s 13/14? I read elsewhere people saying that if she wants to get those jumps, win the Olympics at 16/17 and retire and go to college thats her choice and no one should express concern or think it’s a bad idea for a young teenager to be encouraged to pursue these dodgy techniques. Not to mention the harm of too much time in the spotlight too young. It’s wrong for the Russians to do it because Eteri is evil and it’s a hangover from the Soviet system, but it’s fiiine and acceptable, admirable even, for a tiger parent to push their child in this way. Well between Rusfed and USFSA we know where the impetus to make UR and clunky landings acceptable is coming from. What’s the point in having age limits if you’re going to encourage children to do dangerous things anyway?
sallycinnamon
Full program of Alysa, part 1, part 2 - she attemped 3A and 4Lz twice, and then she zayaked the second 3Lz. The panel didn't notice it, according to the protocol (also, look at those GOE ranges...from -2 to +3 or, -1 to +4...also positive GOE on the 4Lzs)
