My only true wishes are:

  • that JP men keep their 3 spots. Regarding this, EVERYONE LISTEN!!! It does NOT depend on Uno ALONEEEEEEEE!!!:gaah: Omg, can we please listen to each other, and read the rules yourself if you don't believe people. Even if Uno wins, if neither of his two countrymen placed 12th or higher, they are losing the 3rd spot. The rules said, for countries with 3 entries, the top two skaters of the country must have the total placement of 13 or less, to keep their 3 entries in the next WC!!! *deep inhales* I actually saw posts on how it's all on Uno's shoulders more in other places, not the Planet, but I need to let that out here, too. Sorry.
Spoiler

Although, I am unsure as to how they would fully utilise the 3rd spot at the moment. I mean, If Yamamoto could fully recovered and regain his best form, there's hope yet. But that's a bit of a big if.

  • that JP ladies regain their 3 spots. Which means the total placement of Wakaba and Miyahara have to be 13 or less. If Waka can tame her nerves and skate her best, the 4th and 6th placements of Japanese ladies in the Olympics could easily be replicated or even improved.

As for the rest. I lowkey want Jin to win the Men's, and that's it.

And, hopefully, no more injuries, especially not live. *knock on every wooden surface*

With Alina going, Waka’s chances are very thin...

All the more reason for a party if Wakababy wins. She totally wowed me in real life at CC a few weeks ago, I feel so lucky getting to see her again! *hearts*

I would want Shoma on the podium and at least another JP man in the top 10. And I think it's doable (c'mon Keiji and Tomono).

I hope after this, no matter the result, people don't bandwagon against Shoma, it wasn't just him alone who was responsible for JP men's spots. And I hope no one even dares to go into the Yuzu territory (he's injured geez).

My dreamed podium this year:

Men

1. Boyang

2. Shoma

3. Kolyada

Ladies

1. Wakaba

2. Satoko

3. Carolina

... but I know it's not gonna happen for various reasons ... sigh

I think @Murieleirum's sentiments are fair enough, and more about people saying the event won't be fun or exciting or worth watching - full stop. Not saying not fun/worth watching for them specifically, which is subjective and understandable, but projecting their own feelings to make it sound like an objective judgment on the event itself, and by extension the skaters who will be there. I don't think she's talking about people not going because it's too expensive because their favourites are not there, or not watching because their favourites are not there. That's fair enough, figure skating fans or not, our time and money are our own, we can choose what to do with it and prioritise as we like. I think she's annoyed with people who extend that to say that it won't be an exciting event at all, or that it's not worth watching.

For one thing, that does seem disrespectful to skaters who have worked so hard to get there, and for another, if figure skating fans declare it's just not worth watching at all on social media, it will affect how any casual viewer might watch it. A casual viewer who watches it with an open mind instead of that preconceived notion might find it fun and exciting anyway.

Yup, that's pretty much the point! You said it better than I could

I have the exact same dream podium for the men! :tumblr_inline_n18qr5lPWB1qid2nw: ladies are a bit hard because I want those 3 + Kaetlyn and Gabby to do well :14066882: but I know Alina will most probably get the gold medal so :10636614:

I am fine with any of the three (Nathan, Shoma, Boyang) winning as long as they give good performances, I don't want a splatfest in my first live competition :noshake:  (I'm selfish like that)

However, I would the happiest if Boyang wins because I like him best of the three and would also be glad for Shoma if he stopped collecting silvers and won gold for a change. Though, had he been skating to Loco, I would have been team Shoma all the way

Other than that, I just want everyone to have a good competition and end their season on a high note :cheer:

What I wish for this event are good skates and fair judging :cheer: tho I guess it's too much to ask:13877886:

If I have to choose only one (I can have at least one, right?:smiley-angelic001:)then I guess I'd like good skates, so skaters can leave Milan being proud of what they did:tumblr_inline_ncmifaymmi1rpglid:

I'm fine with whoever wins, but I'll be the happiest if Boyang will be the one to get the gold and ngl, if Nathan wins I'll steer away from certain places, some people are already annoying as it is  and if Wakaba and Caro get on podium and Gabby and Chock/Bates have redemption, and if Marchei/Hotarek do well. I'd like Aliona and Bruno to complete their sweep, I was sad that Aliona had to miss the gala and the group photo with all the OGMs:13877886::13877886: cursed season go away :smiley-scared003: tho zuzu's gold medal makes up for lots of things :POOH:

I’ll take any Japanese girl over Alina and Zhenya when it comes to skating skills, and I saw Wakaba and Kaori in Moscow...

*whispers You sure? What about Wakababy?*

On the men's side, I guess Shoma has a really good shot of winning. But some part of me wants Boyang to win, if nothing else just to see shocked media circles. Pass me the popcorn if it happens.

Well, Boyang has technically won over both Shoma (4CC 2018) and Nathan (Worlds 2017) already so anything's possible. I do think Nathan or Shoma will win, though.

Ah, Jin also placed above Chen in the Olympics.

Yeah, that one too. But Nathan had an uncharacteristically dismal SP at the Olympics, which I don't think he will repeat at Worlds. I'm not sure his 6-quad FS will repeat at Worlds either, though.
