Do you think this will actually be possible to do? My seats aren't great for the men so I was hoping something like that could happen, but also when watching the Olys I noticed that some of the seats didn't fill up until later in the competition so I wouldn't want to sit in what I thought was an empty seat only to be kicked out by the rightful owner ....

Well, that's actually the worst that can happen to you, right? Someone comes along and says sorry, but you're in my seat. As long as you get up and leave, there shouldn't be much of a problem. It's not like you snuck into the arena without a ticket. It might be smart to pick a seat close to the stairs so you can leave quickly if someone does come along, but otherwise you might as well give it a shot.

The question is more if they'll even let people into a section if they don't have a ticket for it. In Helsinki last year, after a while they got more diligent with checking the tickets. But who knows how it'll turn out in Milan. Maybe they'll just say screw it, the upper half of that block is empty, what do we care who sits there. I think you'll just have to wait and see how things actually turn out :)

Over the years I have done it many times. When there are better seats empty closer to the ice I go and sit there especially during ice dance and pairs. When a ticket owner (usually has an All Event Ticket) shows up I just smile and nod and go up to my seat. It can be a little nerve-wracking especially during better groups but usually I've found it worth it.

Audience moving during a performance is heavily frowned upon so I would only pick a seat that’s close to stairs so that I can change a seat fast.

Thank you both for your advice :) I think I'll probably be too shy to do anything in the end and just stick with what I bought but . . I'll bear this in mind :animated-smileys-hands-fingers-01:

I propose an exorcism for this season. Maybe burn some sage before anybody gets to set a skate into the arena in Milan. Or some other form of cleansing fire ritual. How about we burn something down? :) I feel like burning something down. Anybody?

Burn ISU down so it can rise (hopefully better) from its ashes.

:character0049: Let's be stealthy about it. :smiley-scared005:

I can't really feel any different re: this news (and rumor is doing the rounds Medvedeva will also have to WD due to her foot problems). Bring on Worlds, and may the best ones win!!! and may the not-best ones show awesome programs and pretty costumes and have fun music and... yeah. That. Also, risotto! Pasta! Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese for da win! *needs bigger suitcase*

edit: oh, and an extra pwetty flag for all the kewl Italian skaters who will bring the house down, yaay!

I kinda see both sides. Some big names WDing do not automatically means the competition suddenly gets flat. But you also can't force people to be excited when their favourite isn't  competing. If it's not fun for them, it's not fun for them.

Without Yuzuru/Javi/Patrick, men skating competition at World does not excite me anymore. But I like the ladies competition with Zhenia, Alina, Katlyn, Gaby and the Japanese ladies. For the quadster, I like Boyang more than the others. I hope he will get a medal, maybe gold or silver. I hope Nathan will skate a better SP too and get a medal.

 Roughly:

1st line: Team Tutberidze | Let's go, Kazakhstan | Penalty if you didn't watch pairs/ ice dance | Time to drink some catnip (chill pills) | Asian who did better

2nd line: Who let the child to go on ice? | Drink a shot if you are staring at a butt | Team Orser | A shot for Misha Ge | Shot while your favorite skates

3rd line: The mentioning of Lambiel (2x for StéphDen) | Misha Ge has a new ex | For every withdrawal person | Found a crash - forgot the name (not sure I understood this one, sorry) | Twitter hates the commentator

4th line: Pop (2x if it was by Kolyada) | Shot before the last group | Commentators discuss the Olympics | Homoerotic tension | Shot of your namesake is on ice

5th line: Commentators compare Zhenya and Alina | Trankov again | Bad costume (it was more rude originally) | TAT recalls Yagudin | Moulin Rouge skate

UPD: Sorry, I forgot to translate the girls' commentary.

"I did it. Level: hard, alcohol is dangerous for your health, I didn't add a cell "for a quad", because otherwise we all would go to a drug rehabilitation center. Use the time for your advantage!"

Despite all the withdrawals (:13877886:) I'm still really excited to go to Milan! And here's my companion, Lil' Dragon. I'm gonna throw him for Boyangman, though it might be a little hard to part with him. (Also, he doesn't normally have heart eyes, I just thought it looked cute :4:)

I burnt sage before COR and then before NHK. It didn't work, so I burnt sage again, but this time because I wanted the sage to burn.
