Anyway, I hope Anna can take some time and heal well for Russian Nats. I'm actually not optimistic at all but I can only wish her well, fingers crossed!

I'm going to cheer my heart out for Satoko to do well (and incidentally help Wakaba to the final), and Boyang! Also, pairs with S/M.

Sad to hear about Anna, but maybe it's for the best. I'm more nervous than excited when she skates these days.

Sad to hear about Anna. She is one of my favorite ladies. Hope she’ll get better soon.
I’m looking forward to seeing Boyang, Han Yan, Kevin, Satoko, Kaori, Karen’s new program, Piper/Paul, Anna/Luca, Shibs, Kana/Chris, Aliona/Bruno, though not sure how much I’ll be able to see live.
Hope Voronov will do well too.
Bit worried about Mura. Hope he's in good shape and will be able to show what he can do.

The way this season is going I just hope there are no more injuries - and that USFS hubris doesn't come back to bite Nathan 

What would need to happen for Javi to make the GPF? It would be quite unexpected but since Yuzu withdrew his chances got a little higher 

So assuming Nathan wins, obviously Nathan's in. Sergei Voronov will have to finish ≤ 6th, Boyang will need to finish ≤ 5th, and Adam too will need to finish ≤ 5th. So we need 3 skaters to place in the top 4 other than Nathan....Han Yan could do it, I guess, and Kevin Reynolds always has the goods (if he rotates), as well as Maxim Kovtun........yeah, it's pretty unlikely.

At the moment they are trying so hard to prop Nathan up: almost two articles a day...some of them with a sort of bombastic title (such as: "Chen marches toward Olympics...", "More than spins and jumps" over a photo of Chen with ballet shoes, "Nichol takes Chen through artistic rite of passage", and "Utah native Nathan Chen is changing figure skating, and his next stop is the Winter Olympics").

I expect his PCS will rise at this comp, hoping not in an unrealistic way.

 

And: I didn't know that Chen had these strong sponsor: listed for now Coca Cola, Nike, Kellogs, Bridgestone and United Airlines. I imagine that this will produce strong pressure to deliver at OGM...

I feel bad for just about every other American athlete competing at the Olympics. I'm not saying Nathan doesn't deserve the hype and sponsorship but have USFS forgotten that they have other athletes as well?  Also, I see the 'balletic'/artistic narrative is coming back and being pushed strongly...
